Welcome
The University of Hawaii football team received oral commitments from two Kahuku High seniors.
Salanoa-Alo Wily and Soli Afalava said they called the UH coaches on Monday night to accept scholarships.

Great news! Chow established the pipeline early from Kahuku and it continues to bear fruit.

And Afoga Wily, who unfortunately had to retire because of concussions.

John Wa'a is the Kahuku redshirt Frosh who will start at RT or OG this year for Hawaii. I agree Norm Chow has been recruiting Kahuku unlike any other HC before him since June Jones complained one year that Siuaki Livai was convincing his football players to go to the mainland. Kahuku's talent has not been what it has been since Norm Chow has come here however the Salanoa Wily commitment looks like a good one since he looks like he will be one of the top DL in the State this year. I think it partly is due to Chow's Kahuku recruiting experience from when he was at BYU when BYU signed Itula Mili and Mark Atuaia. Just imagine if Hawaii can turn it around this year, I think the flood gates open in terms of recruiting - we will still lose the good ones however I think more will stay home not to mention more 3 star mainland players will sign here. Max Wittek deciding to come here is huge although too bad he wasn't eligible this year - the thing is, if Norm Chow does not turn it around this year to keep his job then Wittek may go elsewhere again if Hawaii decides to hire someone like Ken Niumatalolo. I just hope Norm Chow is still here to see Wittek play and possibly go on to the NFL then that will mean we finally turned the corner in football.

Great talented commits. Hopefully, they sign on the dotted line of the UH NLI.

"hire somebody like Ken Nuimatalolo..."
thats even worse!!...the triple option is more out-dated than pro-style....we are trying to move forward, not backwards....was bob wagner not available?
