LAS VEGAS – His team lost two games it led at halftime and two others that were tied, fell twice in overtime and on a last-second field goal to UNLV after taking the lead in the final minute.

The starting quarterback went down with an arm injury in the third game of the season and the leading rusher missed seven games with a broken foot.

No wonder coach Norm Chow had fans suggesting his Hawaii football team was cursed.

Notable: Five of Hawaii’s 11 losses last season were by less than a touchdown, including two in overtime.

If Kaumeyer defense that gave up 500+ yards game and boat loads of points could hold anybody Hawaii could have won a few of those games. Instead Chow had to roll the dice on offense due to the lack of faith in Kaumeyers defense and come up snake eyes.
