Damien,

After coaching you at Keaau. I know you got the heart and work ethic to be a warrior. Don't let anyone get in your way or slow you down. Stay focused on the prize in the end and remain that team player you have always been.

Coach Nate.

H20, BIK, BIH, Cougar04, or any other Big Island folks, help me find the last guy from Kea'au High School to play for Hawaii...

I am almost certain that there were no others. I played, graduated from, and coached at Keaau. And Damien is the only one from Keaau to make the Warriors.

Congratulations Damien! All it takes is one to open the doors for others to follow. The bar has been set and the gates have officially been open.

Yeah I'd go with what the coach said. I've only lived here since '97 but I'd remember if there was since

Keaau has had some great players. But I do believe you all are right -- Packer is the first Warrior. One of the best Keaau players I ever recall was one big hearted, gamer haole kid named David Howell. He held it down for the cougars on the football field and basketball court. Running Back Bronson Kaneao was probably the one player with the most natural talent I've seen out of Keaau.....but never lived up to his potential. Mtume Miskizi-Jackson was a good player too.
Good to see Packer representing for the Puna boys.
