Murray “Whiplash” Cassidy was an outstanding linebacker and strong side safety on the 1968 to 1970 teams which had a 22-8-1 record.

I wonder how awesome it must've been to play football for Hawaii back then. Not as much pressure to win back then, so I can just imagine how stoked guys were to be at UH. Not to say that those past players didn't work hard, but I can only imagine how great of a deal they had set up: a full college scholarship, playing football in a state that was just happy to have a team to watch, and being able to go out to beaches, college parties and check out the fine women of Hawaii
