We cannot take Lamar too lightly!

Post by tom-WarriorNation »

Lamar is in Texas; the breeding ground of top flight football players; probably many of them who couldn't qualify for the bigger name schools.

Also I remember where we lost to another small Texas school, many many years ago; think it was Texas A&I in 1975?

Where can I watch this game? Since I live on the mainland and we left the WAC , the ESPN 3 option is no longer an option. Mahalo in advance

He's Baaaaack....
What took you so long, tom buddy.. I expected this thread moments after the USC game...
I'm not taking them lightly, I have them scoring 10 points and losing by ONLY 35 pt.

Wait a minute...

Lamar is 1-1... and lost their first game by 40 points.... learned from it and won their second game by 31 points, giving up 0. Hawaii is 1-1 and lost their first game by nearly 40 points... have we learned from it?

Lamar must be feeling pretty Heddy, right now... and our boys might be too much of gentlemen to trash a Heddy Lamar.

I hope our guys know they have to put on a clinic. Win with enough leeway to allow Norm to run plays that he wouldn't normally. That would really put the onus on Nevada to prepare for their game.

According to one of their posters, they may have lost to ULL in their first game, but ULL is arguably a better team than UH. What a statement.

ULL has LaMarcus Gibson...

And Uh did get blitzed by one of the directional Lousiana schools several years back. That team was fast... [edit - it was Louisiana Monroe in 1997, lost 20-23]

Lamar has alot of transfers from okst and mizzu. They have a 5* recruit as a rb. so UH better be ready. Don't take then lightly. Take care of business and don't let up.

When was this???? :o [-X
1997 we barely lost to Louisiana-Monroe 20-23
1977 we beat Louisiana-Lafayette 20-6

Regarding Gibson, I thought this was the same dude who redshirted at Hawaii..

BTW, madeinhawaii sure isn't taking this game lightly, he already got us at 1-1

In their first game Lamar made a lot of mistakes and had 6 fumbles. Still I thought that if they could clean things up that they could be a pretty good team. They have a good quarterback and any team that can throw is dangerous. They improved their running in the second game which does not surprise me knowing who their oline coach is. Their head coach has already started his Hawaiian vacation so if any thing it may be Lamar who is taking us lightly.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

This thread isn't too bad in my opinion. It's a silly fan tradition/superstition. Things wouldn't seem normal to me without someone posting a thread like this before every game. Hey wait!!!! Did anyone post one for USC???? (just kidding)
