He also has a younger brother, No#56, 6'2 285lbs, Justin Taimatua c/o 2011, who played D-Tackle for Tafuna HS, AM Samoa. He's currently at FSCC (Fort Scott Community College), Kansas. Justin was awarded 2011 DPOY in hs. Pure animal, this kid is bigger than TJ. Talk to his Dad, he said he may transfer here to join his older brother on the Defensive front. That's if the big schools don't come after him. Missouri had there eye of the tiger on him already and is trying to sink there claws into locking him in, along with the Jayhawks, lol.kapakahi wrote:TJ attended Waipahu HS....where he played volleyball but not football....before moving to the mainland.

With Warriors losing Correa & Hanohano after this season, hoping UH actively recruits TJ's younger bro DT Justin.polywarrior4life wrote:He also has a younger brother, No#56, 6'2 285lbs, Justin Taimatua c/o 2011, who played D-Tackle for Tafuna HS, AM Samoa. Did we not recruit him out of Tafuna? Not saying we have to recruit every kid outta Samoa but being the brother of a current warrior just figured we woulda been all over him last year
Re: 2012 Day 58 – Fuata’i “Teejay” Taimatuia, Jr.
In Teejay's class they recruited 2 DTs, Calen Friel and Moses Samia. They next year they recruited Junior Alexis who opted out and went to Miami. This year they got DeJon Allen, Gus Lavaka and Quenton Brown.H20 wrote:Did we not recruit him out of Tafuna? Seeing Justin at a JC tells me most likely he wasn't a D1 qualifier out of Samoa.

TJ ended up being the starting middle linebacker after spring camp. This I like.Grinch wrote:So, is he a linebacker or DE?

Re: 2012 Day 58 – Fuata’i “Teejay” Taimatuia, Jr.
That would be the question.......I'm sure TJ will do very well at MLB, just the same as the other players, but until that day comes when the whistle blows, the ball is snapped, they all still has to prove they belong at there positions come game time. The shuffling will continue through the course of the season trying to get players to gel an master the new schemes. No one is guaranteed there starting role or pt through out the season, unless another athletes steps up, or they make plays, minimize mistakes, or you'll get replaced. Ay that rymed, lol.Grinch wrote:When's the last time we had a middle LB of his size? damn . . .

+1, similar to Art Laurel on the outside. TJ has the speed and ability to get around the edge as a pass rusher. He actually started off the spring playing the end, when Art was out, then Daryll was out after. When they both return, he moved over to the middle. But your right, TJ is a beast no doubt. The boy can run.Grinch wrote:Yeah PolyWarrior, true dat. And if not MLB ... He'd likely make a beast of a D-end.

And, if Brenden Daley can play some linebacker . . . We'll have some really good size at LB ... Glad to hear Teejay can run !!!
