JJ (SMU), Niumatalolo (Navy), Smeland (Army), Rolo (Nevada), Aranda (Wisconsin), Tormey (Wyoming) all struck out.
But former players made out:
Jeff Ulbrich (UCLA) - Isaac Savaiiaea
Joe Seumalo (Oregon St) - Titus Failuaga, Charles Tuaau
Keith Bhonapha (Boise St) - Kamalei Correa
BTW, not a Hawaii alum, but Jason Gesser is now the QB coach at Wyoming.
Somehow I don't see that as a threat to UH's recruiting
Former UH coaches/players recruiting Hawaii?

Keith Bhonapha was named MWC recruiter of the year by Scout.com yesterday. Landed one of the top RBs in high school this year, along with Correa. Hope he ends up at UH in some capacity down the line.

Bad for UH, but good for the State. It would be nice if we could get first choice
Re: Former UH coaches/players recruiting Hawaii?
I think the key thing to point out is that the coaches that we're successful here were also attached to attractive programs.

I wouldn't count the other local recruiters out just yet.
Never underestimate the under the radar athletes who may not be known in the state. Not to forget the other 80% who will be attending a JC some where in the states due to requirements. Diamonds in the rough, hidden poi poundaz still buried in the imu pit waiting to be expose, lol.
