Re: Depth chart
More like happy that Satele is NOT starting.
Re: Depth chart
Very interesting. First time UH Fall Campers Mike Edwards and Mike Sellers pegged at no. 1 CB and Nickle, respectively.
And Paipai and Liko on the same side, with Monster Masch on the other.

Re: Depth chart
Not any major surprises, to me. Masch starting against bigger team that will try to run. Iosefa a good blocker - given our young line. Key to winning - our talented but inexperienced O-tackles. D looks SOLID.

Re: Depth chart
Iosefa is going to be a crowd pleaser at running back. He's tough and has good quickness.
Re: Depth chart
Yeah, I've only heard about Iosefa and guys like Bright, Winchester, etc. I'm really looking forward to seeing them in action!

Re: Depth chart
Good point, will the OL come thru? I think they will. Leonard, Lefiti, were good enough to start last year, and we've heard only good things about Shigematsu and Winchester.Grinch wrote:Not any major surprises, to me. The D should crush many an opponent. Can't wait to see them in action.Grinch wrote:Not any major surprises, to me. Masch starting against bigger team that will try to run. Iosefa a good blocker - given our young line. Key to winning - our talented but inexperienced O-tackles. D looks SOLID.

Re: Depth chart
The guard across Vaughn is the number one in the country according to Phil Steele. I can see why Aranda is trying to beef up that side of the line with Masch.

Iosefa is a good choice. Got to protect Moniz. Tulsa came at him early and even took a roughing penalty. Moniz will have to tough it out.

John Hardy-Tuliau will not only be tearing it up on the D, but also on special teams. He is a big time contributor that needs to be on the field as much as possible.

He should provide great protection as well as bowling over some defenders. I seen him run at practice and he runs with authority, hitting the holes quick, and punishing guys in his way. I like the choice.RedZone wrote:Iosefa is a good choice. Got to protect Moniz. Tulsa came at him early and even took a roughing penalty. Moniz will have to tough it out.

I watched Regan Maui'a in a pre-season game the other night and he still got it. When he blocks someone they feel it.Makai TailG8TAZ wrote:He should provide great protection as well as bowling over some defenders.
