It didn't take long for big Mike to earn that 1st team CB spot. This kid is going to do big things for the Warriors! Can't wait to see him out there locking down WR's!

From what I saw in practice, He looks like the real deal to me.

Is it just me who thinks that our mainland recruiting is way better now under Mack than it ever was under JJ?
I hope it all translates to more wins on the field.

Recruiting has become a "season" unto itself. It seems to be getting better each year. So much so that you start looking forward to all the new names before the real football season is over... hang on every nibble and bite... Worry that they will get accepted or renege... then to distract you from all that, spring practice begins... pro draft... free agency... who's in unsupervised workouts - summer school? ... who made the roster cut? ...
It's all good. Football, year round.

June Jones was panned regularly by the preseason writers for his lack of recruiting. However, JJ never pretended to be a good recruiter and a lack of staff here (and in other areas) was one of his reasons for leaving.Txbow wrote:Is it just me who thinks that our mainland recruiting is way better now under Mack than it ever was under JJ?

Mack, on the other hand, is an acclaimed recruiter for other BCS programs. Besides getting seemingly better players on the field, Mack also seems to be getting better players off the field. i.e. they are not getting into trouble as often.
Yeah, I also like Mike Edwards attitude off the field as well. He seems really well spoken. I look forward to watching him play.

Just checked the video and see what you mean. Having a shut down corner will allow the front seven to attack.H20 wrote:Just saw the kitv sports and I LOVE his attitude, he just jumped up to one of my favorites.

Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

No diggidy no doubt. Having a lockdown CB like this combined w/ our front 7 spells disaster for opposing teams offenses!RedZone wrote:Just checked the video and see what you mean. Our D has guys who played in SEC (Edwards) and Pac-10 (Kaniela) games. Others have played schools from such conferences already. Confidence should be high.
"The rise . . . of the Warriors."
Mike Edwards
Was good in the return game, but even better against the pass. I believe they only tried to throw on him one time
and he broke up the pass. The staff should consider having him shadow the other teams top receiver.
Another note, I believe he will be eligible for the NFL draft following this season.

Re: Mike Edwards
he will be eligible, but i doubt he'll go, as he wont have the national profile people at other schools do.
but he is a HUGE steal for us. he could be our Charles Woodson!

When in doubt, burn it down.

i dont mean he'll be as good. im just talking about his role on our team. Woodson was his team's shutdown corner and was huge for their return game.
Edwards wont be at that level, but his role is similar. by "Our Charles Woodson", i didnt mean he'd BE Woodson, i just meant, he could be like him in terms of impact to the team's success.
When in doubt, burn it down.
