Who will lead the Warriors in TD's in 2011?
Who will lead the Warriors in TD's in 2011?
I think this makes for a nice healthy discussion topic. Last year was a great spread of output from graduates Green, Salas and Pilares, but who will lead this coming season?
The answer to the question is basically who do you think will start at the two slot positions? When was the last year that a non-slot receiver led the Warriors in TD's?

according to espn (i dont think they are 100% accurate though):
2007: Jason River led the team in receiving TDs.
2008: Malcolm Lane tied for team lead in receiving TDs w Bain/Washington.
looks like miah o and stutz2 will be the starting slots unless gant or amadi can unseat them in the fall. hard to say who will dominate. pollard has the experience, bright has the potential and the slots usually always put up big numbers.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sterling Jackson lead the team in TDs. As I think this year's WRs are much more even and as a result the TDs will likely be spread more evenly.
Also and I'd hate to say it, I'm a little concerned about whether Miah and Stutz play all 12 games anyway. I mean, Pilares missed a few last year as well and neither of them is build like his is at present.

Ashley Lelie led the team in TD's in 2001.. was Dwight Carter a WR and not a SB? I'm pretty sure he led the team in TDs in 1999, June's first year.
I would like to say Bright, but so far the only QB that was sling the long ball is Shane Austin. I'm going with Pollard, with Jackson a close second

Sterling Jackson. I think close in we will pound it instead of throwing it in.

Darius Bright! He is going to dominate on the outside. He will stretch the field on the outside like Ashley Lelie did and how Rodney Bradley did before he got injured in '09. Watch him catch 90+ balls for 1,000+ yds for 10+ TD's.

I was actually thinking of Darius Bright too. Mostly because I think his height will lead to a lot of jump balls in the corner of the end zone.

Joey Iosefa will be the TD leader in 2011.

I don't know who will lead but I do know that I can't wait to find out. This should be a real exciting season with all kinds of players making their mark.

Maybe somebody (not me) can keep a tally of the 6 scoring positions for the Warriors offense (X,Y, W, Z, RB, QB) and record what position rather than player scored the most TD's in the season. That would make for interesting analysis and keep things extra interesting when the 2nd stringers get in there in garbage time or if someone has stepped in the starting line up because of injury.
Can you sense that we are in the off season? These are the kinds of questions that come to mind in May.

I'm hoping the staff figured out the role of running back once again....after the success of Green last year.
In 2006 Nate Ilaoa led the team with 13 rushing and 5 receiving TD's.
He also cracked the top ten all purpose yard list for the nation...something UH hasn't done before or since.

I will have to see who starts first. Too many question marks at so many positions.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.
