I was on the freshman Folsom team with Graves for the summer before transferring to another HS. He played QB and safety. Pretty hard hitter, great quarterback, great overall athlete. I never really thought he would make it to a big college though. He was a little undersized as a freshman.

I'm hoping he starts when Moniz graduates. I think he would put up good rushing and passing numbers. I know there's a lot of competition for that 2012 QB spot though. Good luck to Graves.

JJ used to tweak the offensive playbook each year to stay ahead of the opposing defenses when he was here. I can see Rolo adding designed running plays with David Graves to add more run to run and shoot- kind of like how Andy Dalton ran to keep the opposing defenses guessing. Or more pistol-like that Kaepernick operated (although David chose UH over Nevada).

I didn't study the Tulsa defense like the students of the game on this board. However, I would think that the added threat of a running QB (versus a scrambler like Bryant Moniz) would open things up in the passing game, especially in the middle.
