A 2010 graduate of Artesia High School in Lakewood, Calif...earned three varsity letters...started all three seasons at linebacker...a two-time all-league and all-CIF Southern Section first-team selection…as a senior, recorded 115 tackles and six sacks…as a junior, tallied 124 tackles, including 19 for loss, 10 sacks, and six forced fumbles…selected as league’s defensive player of the year in 2008...also lettered in track, competing in the 200-meter, 400-meter and relay events...nominated for the Lakewood High School Hall of Fame.

Fuata’i “TJ” Taimatuia, Jr. was born in Fagasa, American Samoa...major is undecided....has four brothers and two sisters...parents are Fuata’i and Joann Taimatuia of Fagasa, American Samoa.

Fun Facts:
- Related to former UH defensive lineman and current San Francisco 49er Isa’ako “Isaac” Sopoaga, current Warrior David Lefotu, and future Warrior David Katina
- Enjoys playing the guitar, ukulele, and bass
- Chose Hawaii over Arizona, California, UCLA, Utah and Washington
- Artesia HS has produced Current NBA Players James Harden and Jason Kapono and former NBA Players Tony Farmer, Ed and Charles O’Bannon and Tom Tolbert

FYI....TJ also attended Waipahu HS....where he played volleyball....but not football....before moving to Cali to finish up high school.

i like his height. are we keeping him at LB or is mack thinking of moving him to DE?

According to Stephen Tsai on The Warrior Beat this morning, he is in line to play the "elephant" position with Art Laurel.

BTW, doesn't he resemble Mana Silva in some of the photos?

just re-watched the game. noticed Taimatuia has changed his number to 3.

I think he was one of the guys rushing up middle on punt blocks-returns. Those guys were sending blockers nearly into punter.
