Appeared in four games as a backup slot receiver and as a kickoff returner on special teams…caught one reception for eight yards against Boise State (Oct. 24)…returned four kickoffs for a 20.0 average…season-high 29 yard return at Nevada (Oct. 31).

Played two seasons for Compton Community College in California...named second-team JC Gridwire All-American...first-team all-Western State Conference Pacific Division and all-state...named co-conference player of the year...led the conference with 88 catches for 1,103 yards for an average of 14.9 yards per catch...added nine touchdowns in 10 games... ranked third in the state in receptions per game (7.4)...also a kick returner, who had seven returns for 162 yards and added four two-point conversions...averaged 131.8 all-purpose yards per game...broke Steve Smith's and Chad Johnson's national junior college record for single-game receptions (16) and yards (284) against Allan Hancock...had three TD receptions against Ventura.to JC Gridwire All-America second team. ... Western State Conference Co-Player of the Year. ... Ranked third in state in catches per game (7.4).
- Also Ran on the 100m and 200m Track and Field teams at Compton CC

Prep:
A 2006 graduate of Arroyo Valley High School in San Bernardino, Calif...earned two varsity letters in football...played wide receiver, tailback and defensive back for Arroyo...also returned kicks...led his squad to the CIF playoffs in both his junior and senior seasons...earned all-CIF honors and named all-league on both offense and defense as a senior...recorded more than 1,300 all-purpose yards and 18 touchdowns in 2006... posted 45 catches for 917 yards and 14 touchdowns receptions...also lettered twice in track... part of team that twice advanced to the state finals...qualified for the 100-meter state finals as a senior and clocked with a time of 10.6 seconds.

Personal:
Born Jan. 30, 1988, in San Bernardino, Calif... intends to major in communications...has three brothers...parents are Shawn Barfield of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and the late Johnie Blount.

Fun Facts:
- JC is the same school the former Warrior Keenan Jones attended
-- nickname is "Da Bizzness"

Hope he's healthy and ready to contribute this season. HE could be a dangerous player as a PR or KR.

But I agree, I really want to see him contribute big time... got to get those blocks though.
