ESPN says that Colorado has already been invited to the Pac-10…Baylor will be left behind.
With Nebraska apparently headed to the Big Ten, the Pac-10 is poised to become the Pac-16.
Colorado already has received an invitation to join the conference, while five other invitations will be extended to Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech, according to a source familiar with the negotiations

The Northwestern reporter for rivals (I’m guessing he’s supposed to be the Chip Brown equivalent for the Northwest US) says that the Big 10 has invited Texas and Texas A&M! It would be interesting to be at the meeting between Texas and Texas A&M tomorrow…
With Nebraska already committed, this report says that Texas, Texas A&M and Notre Dame have been invited to the Big 10. Missouri has a conditional invitation–they get invited if Texas or Notre Dame join the Big 10.
If Texas and Texas A&M go to the Big 10, then the Big 12 might actually survive and the Pac-10 might stop at 12 teams. I would think that would be best for UH since the Big 12 would raid the MWC and the MWC would need WAC teams…
Breaking: Big Ten Offers Texas, Texas A&M, Missouri and Notre Dame
Just spoke with my friend at the Big Ten. The offer to Missouri is contingent upon Texas AND/OR ND joining. Will post more details as I hear.

UH joining the MWC would probably be best for UH down the road (if the scenario happens where the Big 12 raids the MWC) but I personally don't like the idea of going back to those bastard teams that formed the MWC without Hawai'i. Just my 2 cents.

Sorry man, I'll give Wyoming the "semi-bastard" label... that better?wyokie wrote:HEY, One of those "basterds" is WYOMING.WA Warrior wrote:UH joining the MWC would probably be best for UH down the road (if the scenario happens where the Big 12 raids the MWC) but I personally don't like the idea of going back to those bastard teams that formed the MWC without Hawai'i. Nah.. better you just run over them "basterds" with the semi...
I think the WAC should get ready to let go of La Tech and pounce on some of the most Westerly MWC members... especially if Utah, BYU and/or TCU get poached from them.
Re: THE OFFICIAL SH THREAD of ALL Possible Conference Expans
First of all, I doubt the MWC would want anything to do with us, so chances are we could be up crap creek without a paddle. We kind of know how KU and KSU feel.
Secondly, this is the dark side of college athletics rearing its ugly head. This expansion talk emphasizes that totalitarianism and greed rule the world of college athletics and kill the essence of all college sports. Sucks.

Do they even have a choice? Being raided of 6 teams doesn't exactly put you in a negotiating form. Beggars can't be choosers.gopunahou wrote:First of all, I doubt the MWC would want anything to do with us, so chances are we could be up crap creek without a paddle.
This stuff is all messed up. I'm taking it all with a grain of salt at this point. This morning it was a done deal that we would see a Pac-16. Only 12 hours later we are looking at a Pac-11(Most likely Pac-12) and a Big 16.....oh and the Big 12 survives. This situation is uglier than a _________(wyokie inserts famous quote).

Personally I can see this happening in a few years. The PAC-16 will set a standard for the other conferences to get to 16. Big 16, ACC 16, and SEC 16, add in the PAC16 and those will be the new "standard" for Division 1 football, all other not in those conferences will be in D1AA and there will be a new vision to label the former D1AA teams. Basically hosing Hawai'i.

If the MWC gets gutted, the WAC needs to stand firm and be the inviter.. not the invitee... but knowing we have Benson... aie yay yai

Re: THE OFFICIAL SH THREAD of ALL Possible Conference Expans
You sure have a nose for the obvious, don't ya. Hawaii be fine in the WAC even if BSU eventually gets invited to the MWC. I would also like to see La Tech get invited to CUSA. I think Portland State and Montana should be the schools invited to take their places. The heck w/ the MWC!!!!!wyokie wrote:HEY, One of those "basterds" is WYOMING.WA Warrior wrote:UH joining the MWC would probably be best for UH down the road (if the scenario happens where the Big 12 raids the MWC) but I personally don't like the idea of going back to those bastard teams that formed the MWC without Hawai'i. Re: THE OFFICIAL SH THREAD of ALL Possible Conference Expans
Hmmm, with all of this expansion talk. I heard/started a rumor that the Big XII is going to make an offer to Boise State, Hawaii, TCU, SMU, BYU, Air Force, Army, and Navy, in response to the PAC taking 6 teams and Big Ten taking NEB and Mizzou.
The conference will be divided accordingly:
State DivisionState Colleges and Service Schools
BOISE STATE
IOWA STATE
KANSAS STATE
ARMY
NAVY
AIR FORCE
Church DivisionReligious Schools and schools without State in their name.
BYU
HAWAII
SMU
BAYLOR
KANSAS
TCU
A sample UH schedule could include:
BYU
SMU
TCU
BAYLOR
KANSAS
NAVY
BOISE STATE
IOWA STATE
UNLV*
USC*
CHARLESTON SOUTHERN*
COLORADO*
FRESNO STATE*
BIG XII CHAMPIONSHIP
BOWL GAME
*non conference game
I would love this, but there is no chance of this happening, plus Utah could easily replace Hawaii in this conference.

Colorado to the Pac-10. Baylor is thrilled.
As of this very moment, we have two Big Ten's.
