Hawaii offers USU recruit...(not V.J. Fehoko)
Just spoke to multiple sources close to the football program.
With less than 48 hours to go until signing day, the land of recruiting is getting more cut throat than ever.
The sources tell Aggieville that Hawaii has not only taken a great interest in defensive tackle Elvis Matagi, but the Warriors have extended an offer to Matagi tonight.
There is no word as of now on whether Matagi is still a solid Aggie commit or whether he's softening on his commitment. Sources tell Aggieville that the USU coaches are calling Matagi tonight in an effort to re-affirm his pledge to Gary Andersen's program.
Matagi is 6-foot-2, 255 and is expected to shore up a defensive line that had been short on size and numbers last season.
Read somewhere that Tuaau isn't going to qualify. Or maybe this is the scholarship that was going to go to Pelluer. UH needs another good DT and Matagi fits the bill.
JMHO that Elvis was pretty impressive....showed good quickness and pursuit....against Mainland All-Stars this past December. Same goes for Fonokalafi. Both undersized (i.e., short), but both displayed toughness & quickness....against much bigger Mainland Oline.
