Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Shane Austin
Re: Day 45 – Shane Austin
This kid gets my vote for the most improved player and in the spring game I thought he had the best arm of any QB. Would like to see him get more playing time and I believe he can step into a starting role.

Re: Day 45 – Shane Austin
Shane Austin impressed me a lot. He looks ready to take over as back up already. We all know he doesn't have a chance to start unless Greg really messes up and shows the coaches he is lost. I hope it doesn't come to that but if it did?
I have questions about the QB choice and how strong of a choice he is. I know Greg is a big man with a strong arm. He plays smart by not throwing many interceptions. He has the most experience playing in our system. Last year he was very slow, which is understandable for his first year. Plus the oline blocking didn't help much either. I might just eat my words but how bad will Greg have to play before one of the other QB's get a real chance to lead the team? Is Rolo sticking with Greg win or lose? Does Rolo have the ability to see when the QB is not following play book and if so does he have the nads to replace him? I ask this because of the merry go round of the QB's last year. I fear if the starter is unable to lead the team like he is supposed to they will stick with him in fear of a repeat of last year.
Even though the warrior bowl was just a spring practice game I saw three other qb's who seem to be able to move the team down field and score TD's. The only way to find out the truth is to put them in a real game with the starting line up.
Greg might end up being a hero but until he proves it in a real game I won't be able to believe we should stick with him as the starting QB at all cost. How would a coach treat this in a way not to hamper the rest of the players positive attitude towards the program or Gregs ability or will to continue to learn?

GA earned his spot. And he did it on the field. Without his leadership last years team would not have made it to a Bowl game.
He has a very tough schedule coming up. I see him starting through the second WAC conference game at a minimum. If he wins one of those games I can see Rolo sticking with him.
