Huge get for the o-line. I think he'll play a lot at LT if not start for us.

How is he progressing? Is he getting a lot of reps in practice?

Heard he absolutely destroyed one of the safeties in a controlled scrimmage.
Really hope he and LaCount can provide O-tackle depth.

He is the real deal. He is strong and knows how to get in front of DE.
Looking forward to him starting.

Re: BRETT LEONARD
During the April 18th scrimmage, Brett Leonard was running with the third team at left tackle. Right now, he is behind senior Aaron Kia and sophomore Clayton Laurel.
I have not seen enough of Leonard to make any kind of a proper assessment, but it's easy to see that he is big and strong.
As reported in another thread, Leonard has three years to play two. I think it's going to be difficult (though not impossible) to dislodge a healthy Aaron Kia, a returning starter. So the question becomes do you want to waste a year for Leonard if he is only a reserve
(assuming Kia remains the starter).

Re: BRETT LEONARD
i agree that if leonard has all the physical tools but hasn't grasped all the assignments yet, why waste a year learning by playing garbage minutes? i think by the summer if leonard progresses and can unseat kia at the starting tackle spot then he should play......but if kia is more consistent and stays healthy all year then don't waste a year and let leonard redshirt this year and then he will have two years to be a solid starter.......and if laurel is also progressing letuli is graduating this coming year too......so we can play them on both ends as JRs..........
on a lot of reports of spring practice #76's number is mentioned quite a few times......so things are looking complicated but good.......lol

Re: Day 13 – Brett Leonard
Give him time to learn the blocking schemes and he should be starting come the UCA game. If Kia has improved vastly and is ready to have a solid senior year then they should use Brett's redshirt year.

Re: BRETT LEONARD
There is much good that comes with a guy like Brett Leonard coming in. The thing I like the most is that he instantly added competition. Players now have to come out and earn their job everyday because they know if they don't this guys is hungrily waiting right on their tail. I expect this guy to get quality minutes anyway IMO. I really hoped for LaCount to be here in the spring as well. But it sounds like the O-line is very much improved so thats a promising sign.
Re: BRETT LEONARD
I have watched practice a few times now and the first thing you notice is his size. During the one on ones you can sense that he has a mean streak in him and attacks the defenders. I like the way he plays
