Hi Warrior fans, Spartan fan here

Post by brijamea »

Hi to all the great Warrior fans from both a Spartan fan and a Warrior fan here in Michigan. Looking forward to a great game Saturday between my two favorite teams. However I do have a stronger allegiance to the Spartans having followed them for 30+ years, however I Love the Warriors and root for them every game except this one.
I'm wondering if any of you die hards can give me an update on the injury situation on the defensive side of the ball for Hawai'i. I know they have had a lot of starters go down to injury and was wondering if they are all still out or have come back.
I will post my prediction and give you guys a scouting report on MSU in my next post. Thanks a lot and Happy Holidays to all of you out on the Big Island!

Well, our injury situation is so bad on defense that UH had to use fourth teamers a lot in the last game. It is so bad, there were times UH could only trot out two linebackers because, as Coach Jones said, "We were out of bodies." Several starting DTs are out with injury and in a couple of cases their backups are also out.

They said anyone who could walk would play this week.

Here's how bad our Defense is.

Two guys are former basketball players without any experience.

I'll just make a list of all the DTs we lost
Issack left for the NFL
The kid out of Kamehameha HS died in a car crash before the season
Transfer out of USC never showed up
The kid out of Nanakuli had a heart issue and wasn't clearned medically.
Abu Maafala transfered to Cal
A samoan kid out of Snowman College didn't qualify academically.
Two kids out of Word of Life academy didn't qualify academically.

That's a loss of 8 DTs!!!!!
We are very thin and it shows when you look at our Rush Defense statistics.

In our secondary
Patton left
Ray Bass left
and two other guys, names slipped my mind
Our all star Elimimian has been injured the last few games.
We're starting a true frosh LB who should be redshirting.

We are beat up on defense big time! Put it this way, our D line is packed full of converted Basketball players and Olinemen

Wait. Now Jones says Bass is coming back next year, again.
Star Bulletin wrote:Bass expected back: Second-year freshman cornerback Ray Bass is out for the rest of the season for a personal reason Jones could not disclose.

The coach did say Bass will likely be back, either in time for spring practice or next season.

"It's up to him," Jones said.

Bass quit the team last year when he was redshirting and thought about transferring, but he was reinstated.

He played in six games this year, starting one. Bass was in on eight tackles and he broke up a pass and forced a fumble.
This is just odd.

More Defensive WOES

Post by BigWave96744 »

DLINE:
Don't forget Laboy finished and went to the NFL
Reggie Maldonaldo - JC DT, never showed up
Kahai LaCount - moved form Oline to Dline, then got injured
True Freshmans Clarence Tuioti-Mariner and Fale Laeli started, got hurt and out for the season
Darrel Tautofi - concussion, out for the season

LB:
Antipati Mailo - 2nd string LB last year, left - personal
Ikaika Curnan - last year's leading tackler hurt most of the season. Will play but might not start
Paul Lutu-Carrol - out for the season

DB:
Starting Safety Lono Manners out for the season
A.J. Martinez - All Star DB out of the LA area, left - academics
Cameron Hollingworth, Omega Hogan, left

Put it to you this way... Every starter on the Defense has been injured except SS Leonard Peters. Besides Peters, DT Fuga and Faga, every starter has missed a game and may 2nd and 3rd stringers have also been injured and missed games...

There are 3 true freshmen scout teamers LB Brad Kalilimoku, DB Keao Monteilh, and Special Teams Ryan Keomaka have started and was not even on the roster in the fall camp..
