CFN Prediction - It's all about TC

Post by The808Chef »

Their prediction is pretty much on line with everyone elses but TC will definitely be in the spotlight regardless of the outcome.

Hawaii (3-3) at Boise State (7-0), 8 pm EST ESPN2

Why to watch: Sit back, relax, get comfortable and enjoy as two of the nation’s most prolific passing attacks will bomb away with the spotlight shining on Hawaii’s Timmy Chang. The senior needs 241 yards to be the NCAA’s all-time passing leader surpassing Ty Detmer’s mark of 15,031 yards and should have it after three quarters. Boise State has won 18 straight games and wants to keep things rolling on the way to another WAC title and hope beyond all reasonable hope for a BCS bid. This should be one of the most explosive games of the weekend with at least 700 passing yards and 80 points of offense.
Why Hawaii might win: If anyone is going to get the job done against Boise State, it’s Hawaii with the nation’s number two passing attack averaging over 347 yards per game. Boise State’s pass defense is miserable ranking last in the WAC and 103rd in the nation allowing 265 yards per game. Sure, some of that is due to teams bombing away trying to come back after getting down early, but the secondary has also gotten roasted when the outcomes were still in doubt.
Why Boise State might win: Hawaii stinks on the road losing to Rice and UTEP by a combined score of 92-49. The Warrior defense gives up points and yards in bunches consistently lousy against the pass and even worse against the run. It’s not like it has gone against a murderers row of offenses either giving up 35 to Florida Atlantic, 41 to Rice and 51 to UTEP. Boise State leads the nation in scoring offense averaging over 44 points per game and won’t have any problems hitting that against the Warriors.
Who to watch: It’s all about Chang as the Hawaii senior goes to set a passing mark he might make unbreakable by the time he’s through. He’s having his best year yet cutting down on his interceptions, despite the two thrown last week against San Jose State, throwing for 15 touchdowns and three picks. He hasn’t thrown for less than 241 yards all season long.
What will happen: Chang will get the record but Boise State will get the win. This might not be the best game of the weekend, but there won’t be one more fun.
CFN Prediction: Boise State 52 … Hawaii 34 ... Line: Boise State -21 Must See Rating: (5 lock yourself in a room to watch - 1 Cheap Seats) ... 4

Time to prove everyone wrong!

...I don't know man, I have some serious doubt. We've put together better teams against BSU and got beaten. I don't think our current defense is any match against their offense.

With that said, let's hope for a shootout. This is their weakest D since they started their streak. If we lose, let's lose while entertaining the crowd and breaking records.
