Jackson Rees looked pretty good against Air Force. Hawaii needs contact hitters at the top of the lineup. First and third batter accounted for six strikeouts. These two batters might be better placed in the middle of the lineup. Its just the first game but my own second guessing. Cade Smith looks like a future closer.

So far, the pitching is dominant. What helps is Yamazaki at shortstop making the defense stronger and so the pitching better. What throws me off is why there is Yamazaki on second with no outs, Hawaii leading 3-1, Trappasso has Vchulek (1st batter) to sacrifice bunt the runner over rather than let Vchulek hit to the right side of the field or just hit away. Give away one out, then Kekai Rios strikes out, then third batter grounds out. Its bad coaching decision to me.
