Congrats to Stephen Wright!
NEW YORK >> Former University of Hawaii pitcher Steven Wright was one of six Boston Red Sox chosen for the All-Star Game.

Wright and closer Craig Kimbrel were selected for the pitching staff. Designated hitter David Ortiz, who is retiring at the end of the season, became a 10-time All-Star and is joined by a trio of first-timers: shortstop Xander Bogaerts and outfielders Jackie Bradley Jr. and Mookie Betts.

Wright, who will appear in his first All-Star Game, is 9-5 this season with a 2.42 ERA over 108 innings pitched. He played at Hawaii from 2004 to 2006.

Wright is the first University of Hawaii product to be named to the MLB All-Star Game.
