No chance of Hawaii ever going to the CWS.
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY?????????????? He only produced 2 good years out of 17 years, 2006 and 2010.
We need a CHANGE, but that's not going to happen now. Also we just lost the series to CSUN :(

Baseball is a game of streaks and what killed the winning streak was not moving the runner up with bunting in the CSUF game. We could have been more competitive in that series but he doesn't impress the sense of urgency on the kids. In the words of the moderator at the CSUF game, he said that everybody on the CSUF team had to be able to bunt against live pitching when Auggie Garrido was coaching CSUF. Pal Eldridge said that they dedicated time every practice to live pitching bunting. Two times on Friday against CSUF, no outs, no attempt to move the runner up. Three times on Sunday. Their best chance of scoring on Sunday against CSUN was when Yamazaki was up with one out, man on first and third. No coaching on possibly drag bunting with Yamazaki's bat control. Too many batters on UH chasing balls outside of the zone. The only person who shortened up their swing was Kekai Rios as he said in an interview.

Part of the reason why Trapasso got an extension to his contract is because of the attendance but Moilili has always been known for its baseball fans and softball teams. They were going to draw fans regardless. This year, if it wasn't for Yamazaki who makes contact with the ball and puts a glove on all balls hit to him, they wouldn't draw much of a crowd. Big mistake not to change the coach.

Second guessing but I really think that Hawaii had a better chance against Portland State if they had a better coach. Wu-Yelland was tired in the 5th inning of the opener and they scored 4 in the sixth because he was left in too long. Then there were several opportunities with man on 1st and 2nd and instead of bunting the man over, Hawaii hits into a double play with a contact hitter not an RBI hitter. Glad they got a hitting coach but the 3-7 batters had all of the strikeouts in the first two games except for one. Over 10 strikeouts by the 3-7 batters over the first 2 games. Time to get a coach that can compete against the Big West best teams.
