Keep The Faith BaseBow Fans!

This last weekend back at Murakami for our beloved BaseBows-- after such great baseball against UCSB -- was, well, disappointing. Expectations too high?

Fellow sports fans compared it to the basketball 'Bows, playing fantastic on the mainland then coming home and playing uninspired ball. Maybe. but why?

UHBB here against Irvine had some memorable moments, heck Adam Hurley knocks one out of the park, and Marc Flores tagged a sweet grandslam that really ignited the bats for awhile... got the crowd and team back into a game that looked all but over...but on a 3-day Big West conference series you would expect the energy level to be up there, right? The last 3 games, defense and pitchers especially, just didn't look ready.

No one expected #17 Arakawa starting on Sunday to have soreness in the 1st inning..but Quentin Torres-Costa could probably pitch a complete game if he was ready to start. Maybe the hurried warmup didn't give him time to prepare mentally. But Squier on Saturday wasn't really on his game either, neither were any of the relievers *after* Torres-Costa on Sunday. Maybe the pitching performance by Morales on Friday night demoralized the team? Cooper usually sets the tone for the weekend, but maybe Morales shutting us down so badly Friday night just put the candle out for the 'Bows for the weekend? Having seen the team play sooo much better on soo many days and nights this season it just hurt not seeing the team play to their potential.

So Rainbow fans and players, going up against UC Poly, gotta' have heart, gotta *believe* !
