On one hand, it’d be a return to the days where I enjoyed watching us play CSU, WYO, UNLV, UNM, and SDSU. On the other, I doubt they’d take us. We also haven’t fielded a team that’s capable of staying with many of those teams. Had we played in the MWC this year, the best we could’ve done is finish above CSU, AFA, and SJSU.

Its all a matter of economics. Hawaii does not have the revenues to support big time basketball. Most of the BWC teams can catch a flight from the west coast to Hawaii at a reasonable price. It gets to be a little more expensive to fly someone out of the Mountain zone to Hawaii. Not many of UH's games are televised on national television so no television revenues. Hawaii does not have to pay MWC basketball surcharges when they schedule games with MWC teams.

They wanna bring in Gonzaga (MWC). You can bet that not only would WCC love that, they are likely some of the people who are pushing Gonzaga to bolt (because they’ve been too dominant)!
Let’s do the same—make Big West teams wanna kick us out because of our dominance! There is no reason we can’t do that!

What about subsidies, are we going to pay for joining again?
