This has got to be our biggest accomplishment since beating Illinois in '92 in football!
Punahou Football: 12-1, 2008 ILH and State Champions! 11-0, 2013 ILH and State Champions, a team for the ages!

I am Big Dog!
But you can call me STL79!
Or auffrey78!
Or auffrey79!
Oh well, what I really am is an elitist!

It was a great game and a great atmosphere!

If people weren't wearing Bear's colors they were rooting for Hawai`i! I loved it! I hope I can make it to Sunday's game!

A great and historic win! 8-D

The officiating was worse than chickensquat. Seemed about even between teams, but the flow of the game was destroyed.

Hawaii can shoot better. If they get the % up some they will be super tough.

still hearing some criticizing the hawaii basketball team's win over cal claiming that cal's top players were out and the assistant coach was fired.

the problems with the power recruitment team at cal is that they concentrated on one-and-done players to get them where they were and their bench was insufficient to move hawaii's players off their game.

hawaii had its challenges and will face a post season ban next season. players left the program during and after the ncaa investigation. ganot prepared the team to play the entire schedule, prepared the bench by inserting them during meaningful game times, and kept improving their game throughout the season.

seems ganot has the knowledge and skills to coach and motivate players to perform at the top of their physical and mental abilities. hope we keep him for more than a couple of seasons.

bottom line: the hawaii basketball team won over cal because they were the best team that played on that court.

Yesterday was a lot of fun. WAWarrior is right, the entire arena was pro-underdog sans the Cal fans. 2nd half felt like a home game.

Amazing accomplishment. I've been so used to UH getting waxed when they reach the national stage in sports. You just thank the guys for making it at all...this time it was almost surreal for us and the UH fans around us. UH got to the big time and did something positive with it. Special moment for UH basketball.

Let's become the Gonzaga of the Big West lol! :hello1:

that should be our goal, and with a few seasons of program building, it is not unrealistic.

Cal beat Wyoming in Laramie so your post is a bit misleading.

Congrats for Hawaii FINALLY winning a NCAA Tournament. Took ya long enough!!!!!

Oh, our last NCAA Tourny win was in 2002 against a good Gonzaga squad!
lol. yall need to make it back. what happened to the MWC this year? one bid? how?
When in doubt, burn it down.

The MW on the whole stunk it up badly!

BTW, Coach Shyatt at Wyoming just resigned to possibly take a assistant job in the NBA (my guess: OKC Thunder). Apparently there's another press conference in Laramie in less than 30 minutes to announce our new basketball coach.
