Cal it is. 13 vs 4. ESPN's Myron Medcalf calls us a dangerous sleeper and says if we can play as well as we did in the Oklahoma game against Cal, we can win!

Well, Cal is a west coast team and the top seed in the region's pod, so they are playing as close to home as possible. Regardless, this is a winnable game! We've beaten NoCal teams this year and almost beat OU. Why stop now? And ain't it fitting that we are playing UC-Berkeley just before facing them in FB to start next year?

They designate the regions based on the location of the regional finals. The finals of the South region will be played in Houston, therefore it is the South Region.

I actually think we couldn't have asked for a better draw. West coast game, playing a good(not great)Cal team, and I suppose it can't hurt to have played a million California based teams in conference play.

I hope our time has Hawaii come to be a "Cinderella Team" and will have a miracle "Cinderella Story". It would mean a lot for this program.

for future reference, unless we get an at large or luck our way through the BWT as a bad team, we will never get a play in game. two play games are for the last four at large teams (no conference championship winners) and two are for the bottom 4 auto bids (4 of the worst 16 seeds, which we'll never get unless we have a terrible team that lucks through the tourney like Cal Poly and CSUN did recently.

Actually, the south regional is in Louisville. Houston hosts the Final Four.

anyone going to Spokane? I'm trying to get a flight now.
