What kind of offensive/defensive schemes did St. Mary's run? What will he bring here? I hope he doesn't go back to the Riley/Nash flex and bring back Jackson Wheeler.

I dunno about this hire. I really love what Gib and Benjy did with the program, notwithstanding the alleged infractions. UH Basketball was fun again.

St. Mary's is one of my favorite non-UH programs. I'm kind of excited...

I guess Matlin hired the coach he knew from the past. Nothing new for an AD to do that. Yoshida hired his friend VonAppen.

I'm a fan of this hire. I hope Eran corners off Australian recruiting. UH has a distinct advantage in location over mainland schools in that regard.

I'm sorry, but I was never a fan of Gib and his regime. His teams were always average, and his winning totals padded by UH falling into a weaker basketball conference. Once Ganot gets his guys in and isn't held back by NCAA sancations, his floor IMO is where Gib had the program.

BT reminds me of this guy:

Ed Orgergon

Did good with the hand that he was dealt at USC (6-2 after becoming interim), didn't get hired as HC, and left the program.

To be fair, the bwc was much better last year as a conferece. We finished in the upper half of conference rpi, which hadnt happened in years in the bwc

This is a dead horse but if he can bring back some guys from the '97, '98, '01, or '02 teams and develop consistency (something that's been lacking since Savo graduated), we can dominate the Big West.
