Men’s basketball (one home game remaining) averaging 6,108 is close to Wahine volleyball’s 6,652 average per home game. Even without Isaac Fotu, and promising frosh Sammis Reyes, a back-to-back 20 win season is money in the bank. With 2 more regular conference (1 home, 1 away) games and 1 or more BWC tournament games yet to be played.

Consecutive 20 win seasons:
Red Rocha FAB 5-1970-71/1971-72
Riley Wallace AC Carter/Alika Smith-1996-97/1997-98

Even when the team lose, this team is fun to watch, reminiscent of past 20 win seasons.

And, as per my opening post...LOL…this team has only one senior in Nevels, the rest: electrifying freshman Isaac Fleming; sophomores Negas Webster-Chan, Stefan Jankovic, Aaron Valdes, Mike Thomas, Stefan Jovanovic; juniors Roderick Bobbitt, Quincy Smith, Brandon Jawato. The rest are underclassmen walk-ons: Niko Flipovich, Dyrbe Enos, Zach Bushcer, and Brocke Stepteau.

Four scholarships will be open for the 2015 Recruiting Class. IMHO Flipovich should be given one.

LOL…extending coach Taylor’s contract to 3 years is a no brainer move for “the powers that be”; and, money in the bank for the Athletic Department.
Sorry but most of the players staying will not be hinged on whether Taylor is still the coach. The truth of the matter is if most of these guys want to transfer they will need to graduate this year or move to a lower division.
The sophomores would have to sit their Jr. year and only play as Seniors some where. Jawato retired, Bobbitt and Smith would have to graduate or move to a lower level.
Only Flemming could transfer and still have a decent career.
With the Weed incident not handled and then the amount of techs we have gotten this year I actually wouldn't mind if a couple players left.
But if they all stayed finding a coach to harness their ability and play good solid trapping full court defense would really send attendance through the roof. If everyone likes the style of play now watch how Havoc runs man people would be going crazy like Run and shoot days for football.

two things

A) FLeming is by far the most important piece to retain who could realistically leave (Jankovic and Negus burned their redshirts.
B) Bobbitt, Quincy, Thomas all have their redshirts. they wouldnt need to graduate or sacrifice a year to maintain their status. they could do it if they wanted to.
When in doubt, burn it down.

Ganot to be named UH men's basketball coach

Excerpts from the above:
Several Rainbow Warriors players with eligibility remaining in their careers did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

But freshman guard Isaac Fleming, who was recruited to UH by Taylor, indicated on Twitter he may elect to leave the program.

Fleming tweeted, "I have to do what's best for me at the end of the day" and "It was a fun year I will always love Hawaii" after the news about Ganot broke.

If these guys are gonna leave, then this is the right time for them to do so. the NCAA sanctions are coming and if we are gonna suck, we may as well suck now and start rebuilding the right way.

what, so we can whine about the coach in 2 years? this fan base wont wait for that long

the sanctions aint even going to be that bad. i doubt we'll get any postseason ban.
