I agree with this totally. this is why the team plays so well in the Diamondhead Classic - they have the talent to compete with the BCS teams they play against and because it is early in the season everyone is still learning to play together and all that. but by the time you get deep into conference play, coaching, scouting, and preparedness really starts to have an impact, and that's where Gib's teams have always struggled.

I will actually agree with this. We just have different definitions of "talented". Top 3 in the #20-22 conference in the country is slumming it for us. I would hope that the new coach (whoever he is) will try and do better.

yes, because we were always a top 50 team

considering how bad the WAC was outside of Utah State and NMSU, we've been "slumming it" for near 15 years already.

WAC was usually Top 12, Top 14 at worst.

In the Wallace days we were often in the Top 120--going to the NIT every other year or so. That should be about the realistic bar for this program. Top 100'ish.

Gib has barely keeping us in the Top 200 (and has been outside of it) most years.

How can the UHAD hire a coach without a proper background check? Background checks include criminal and financial. Financial background check should have been done before Benjy was hired as Gib's assistant.
