This topic probably won't stir up too much convo, but I read this article and the first line lists some less than decent point guards of years past. And I saw
" Jeremiah Ostrowski... They were the ones that most frequently followed the chants of "YOU SUCK ____" or "GET OFF THE COURT ____"
I looked up the stats for Miah and yeah his numbers are none too spectacular for a 2 year career PG: 211 points, 251 assists, 110 turnovers. Numbers aside though, Miah was the heart of those teams. He brought the energy to the offense that we hadn't seen for a long time. His hustle and heart rubbed off on everybody. Not to mention the night he led UH to 2OT against the #25 Utah State Aggies right after the death of his father with 15 points, 3 steals and 6 assists. From the box score, Ostrowski was a decent point guard, but to that team, he was the rock that kept that team strong.

his awful free throws sank us in a few games, and he got WAY too flashy with the passes that resulted in turnovers.
When in doubt, burn it down.

He was the best we had by far. Replace Jace with him last year and the team is much better. A nearly 2.5/1 TO ratio is pretty good.xer 21 wrote:ostrowski had a lot of "YOU SUCK" moments though.yougotmayo wrote:[urlhttp://www.scout.com/2/1279407.html][/url]

honestly, if you want to get into it, i think Hiram thompson is at least the clear second, if not 1b in this conversation, but i dont anyone would consider him a great PG.
the problem with Miah is the same as Jace's. neither had any real scoring potential. Jace didnt have the athleticism to drive it and couldnt really shoot, and Miah was so short he was effectively neutralized in terms of shooting by anyone guarding him over 6 ft. Miah had a more dynamic looking game, but neither really forced the defenses to really respect their offense, and we ended up playing a lot of borderline 5 v 4 on offense.
Miah was better than JAce, sure, but im not so sure we're that much better with him last year.
When in doubt, burn it down.
