I'm glad Gib was able to clear the bench and everyone got to play, but that was brutal. I hope Manoa made it worth it and Hilo got a payday for playing on back to back nights, and being willing to take a beat down. Hilo Coach Coleman wasn't hired until July, and only had 5 returnees. yikes...

it was pretty obvious that Gib just wanted a game to keep the team going instead of giving them two full weeks off.

Pretty bad that we got beat on the boards. I know UHH is DII and all but still. You want to be able to use these kind of games to confirm what you can do, and shore up deficiencies that you have. Hopefully, Wednesdays game against the Privateers of New Orleans will bring back the good intensity that the Bows have been showing.

It was a blow-out. Manoa poured in 114 points and outscored Hilo by 51 points.

By the way, the Bows out-rebounded Hilo; 51 to 22.

Outside of the Classic, the pre-conference basketball schedule is on the soft side.

the rainbow classic field was miles ahead of last year's, we played Mizzou on the road, and Montana and Norfolk State.

there are plenty of decent and good teams here. there's a few easy ones, but i think this is the kind of schedule we should be looking at down the road. its at least 3 times harder than last year's OOC.
