Hawaii vs. Rice thread

Post by Scott »

Looks like Hawaii is a 5 point favorite at home. I think it's one of the smallest point spread at home this season. I was reading RW's interview today in the Advertiser, got this out of it:
Wallace has been juggling the starting lineup this season, in part because no player has been consistent throughout.

"We still need to find five guys who play hard at the same time," Wallace said. "I thought we'd find it by now, but we haven't. The only good part is it keeps everybody on the team working for a spot."

Wallace said the goal of reaching the NCAA Tournament is still intact for the 'Bows.
It's almost as if RW read our editorial about changing up the line up and he's explaining why he was doing it. :)

Rice player

Post by BigWave96744 »

I heard Riley on the BC show that Rice has a guy who at mid point of the season is considered one of the top 12 players in the NATION.... :o

My prediction at half-time....Hawaii wins by 10! Hawaii will out hustle and out rebound Rice in the second half. Nash will continue to have the hot hand and Sottos will heat up after a chilly first half.

I hope you're right Scott. This team needs this win badly.

I need to get some rest, as it's 1:00 am here and I have class at 9. I'll be there for sure when Tulsa comes to town, but pull our boys to victory for me, guys!

wow, that was a real close one. We got lucky with the last call of regulation and the last call of overtime.

Yeah... Hawaii was indeed quite fortunate...

But perhaps winning it THIS way was the best thing to happen to the Bows. They've lost too many games in the last minute, which has taken it's toll on the team's confidence. I think this win convinces the players that they CAN pull it out and not be so tentative.

By the way, isn't it interesting how Little Matt was not allowed to play the last few minutes? If you think about it... Little Matt's "reach in's" and 3-point shooting fouls has cost the Bows at least 2 road wins. Maybe Riley is trying to find the best 5 clutch time players....

I know, it's too bad that he can't keep his composure during the final minute. Out of all the players on the team, he's the only one that I trust of the free throw lane. Have you noticed that the announcers always seem to Batchi the guys making the free throws. They're always like, " He's perfect so far from the charity stripe", then brick.

white out

White Out Nights are reserved for certain games....
Saturday's Tulsa Game is a "White Out Night"...
I assume the Bracket Buster Game will also be a white out...

Black out and Green out doesn't work at the SSC because everyone blends in with the seating and the arena looks empty..

Riley did say on his radio interview after the game that, it will be "GREEN-OUT NIGHT" for the Bracket Buster game. He also said that, if UH beat Tulsa on Saturday, there's a good chance that the Bracket Buster game will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2. The name of the opponent will be revealed sometime on Sunday.
