This Gunther guy is apparently too much for any of the bigs to handle.

I don't know why they don't try a zone since their big men are out muscling us?

Looks like Nash found his shot. His shot looks real smooth tonight. Milos is also giving Hawaii some good minutes and seems to be much more effective against their big men.

36-28 at the half. Scott, I was thinking the same thing, but I know Coach Wallace doesn't think the team plays zone really well right now. Nevertheless, it's not the guards that are playing well for USC, it's the forwards, so they might want to take that into consideration.

Turnovers are still too many and some of them are stupid, but I like the offensive boards again and the offensive firepower is amazing! I think Nash is finally not apprehensive with his shots anymore after that game winner.

USC getting steal after steal on the press because of sloppy passes and poor decision making. Lead cut to 4.

Offense is stalling and Botez has fouled out. I'm going to criticize Coach Wallace for not at least trying zone defense against these guys because they're 2-12 from 3 and I'd rather them take outside jumpers because they're getting it inside at will. 58-57 3:59 to play.

Hawaii wins, they're 8-0 and they win the Rainbow Classic. One of the more physical games in a basketball game. I'm just really proud of the effort they give each night as a fan.

edit: whoa, Lil Matt was kissing everybody? ... :o

They also got to see a different type of team (style of play), which will help them down the road when they make the big dance.

WHEW... another win... sweet.

:o Wow... that USC team was sure physical... It was almost like playing hoops against Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates. I think they'll be very competitive in the Pac-10. If they can get a bunch of victories, that would really help Hawaii's RPI. I think their interim coach (Saia) has them pretty motivated.

By the way, does anyone know if Hawaii-Fresno St. will be televised next week? I think that game will reveal how good Hawaii really is. It's one thing to beat teams at home who are unfamiliar with the flex motion. It's another thing to beat a conference foe on the road who is VERY familiar in the way Hawaii plays.

Go Bows! Go WAC!

Don't know about local telecasts, but I can say the Nevada game will be on ESPN2 at 12:00 EST, 7:00 HST.

I would have loved seeing their big men try to do that to Akpan. I still can't see why Akpan can be on the team as a reserve. He could have really made a difference bodying up with the USC big men. Also, the scholie would be covered by the football team :)

Great win. USC really pushed us hard and we've grown from this game. Too bad we can't get Gipson to shoot everyone free throws.

Simply amazing! The Cardiac-Bows does it again. I call them the Cardiac-Bows because this team plays with a lot of heart on the court, and they seem to want to give us all a heart attack at the end of every game. :D
