All depends on who the refs like.Sprawl808 wrote:My team rankings. What do you think?

Can the powers that be end Judo once and for all? In it's current form it's an absolute disgrace. Replace it with Jiu Jitsu / Grappling.

Re: HHSAA Judo 2017
Predictions? REALLY bad officiating on at least 4 of the 6 mats being run. Maybe more, maybe less depending on how the refs are grouped. Wusstig brothers should walk away with state championships. Jason Pagurayan will demonstrate, once again, how BIG his heart is. The rest of it will come down to who shows up with their "A" game and how the pairings shake out. I've looked at the brackets and there are some REALLY bad brackets. Extremely unbalanced, allowing some players to walk into the championship match, while their counterparts on the opposite side have to run the gauntlet. On the boys side, it'll come down to Iolani, Moanalua and PC. On the girls side, it'll be PC, Moanalua and Roosevelt.

Looking at the brackets on the HHSAA site, all are completely filled, except for 4 slots in the girl's heaviest weightclass.stonecoldstunner wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2017 6:22 pm Predictions? Looks like Judo interest is alive and well. It just is such a shame that the referees are so bad, and the round old guy keeps on insisting on overruling the living, breathing, and sighted other three mat refs on any given mat (over things that happen while he's in the bathroom).

Congratulations Kapolei HS(Boys) on their 4th straight Championship and Pearl City HS(Girls) on winning a championship as well.
