If that's the case, at least Iolani won't be in their way.unpaid wrote:Week Fourteen

Re: Unpaid D-II football
No.1 Konawaena at home against No.4 Lahainaluna.
The key is the passing offense of Konawaena against the passing defense of Lahainaluna. The Wildcats average around 270 per game through the air, while the Lunas only give up around 51 per game through the air.Might be wrong, but I think Lahainaluna faces fewer passing teams in the MIL than Konawaena does in the BIIF.
However,Lahainaluna just played one of their best games last week against Waipahu.
Slight edge to Konawaena.

Re: Unpaid D-II football
The key to me is how Kona responds to the three week layoff and surly can't afford to have a slow start like they did against KS Hawaii. Being well rested is one thing, but to face a Lahainaluna style offense that the BIIF seldom sees will require discipline on defense. If Kona starts strong and is able to slow Luna's running game, they can pull it out. If not, I have the Luna's taking this one.unpaid wrote:No.1 Konawaena at home against No.4 Lahainaluna.

Re: Unpaid D-II football
@gopunahou: I wonder whether Lahainaluna could beat Iolani this year, if the two did play each other. I heard that Iolani's D-line is fairly big this year (it was also fairly big last year). Interesting that Iolani has had a decent-sized D-line two years in a row; that's pretty unusual for them. Maybe that's why their D is pretty good this year, too.gopunahou wrote:If that's the case, at least Iolani won't be in their way.unpaid wrote:Week Fourteen

Re: Unpaid D-II football
Lahainaluna made the final. Can they capitalize this time now that they ain't playing Iolani?

Re: Unpaid D-II football
Great win by the Lunas, 28-14 over Kona.
Re: Unpaid D-II football
Lahainaluna lost in pre-season to Kapaa, something like 28-0. But they have improved over the course of season and I hope its a great championship game.
Re: Unpaid D-II football
Week Fifteen,
1.Kapaa 8-1 Warriors back on top.No.2 Lahainaluna next for the D-II title.
2.Lahainaluna 8-4 Lunas back in the championship game.
3. Konawaena 8-2 Season over.
4.Damien 7-3 Season over.
5.St. Francis 6-2
6.Waialua 7-3
7.Waipahu 8-3
8.Kaimuki 5-4
9.Pearl City 5-4
10.Kalani 4-3
Kapaa beat Lahainaluna in interleague play. The Lunas have greatly improved up to this point but they have had farther to go. The Warriors were expected to be good from the start ,and they have been.

Re: Unpaid D-II football
14-0 Lunas at the half. Let's see if Kapaa has any surprises in the second half.
Re: Unpaid D-II football
Not looking good for Kapaa now. Lunas are taking control.
