State Brackets Revealed
Division 1:
Hilo vs Mililani
Baldwin vs Waianae
1. Kahuku vs Baldwin/Waianae
2. St Louis vs Hilo/Mililani
Division 2:
Damien vs Konawaena
Kaimuki vs Lahainaluna
1. Kapaa vs Kaimuki/Luna
2. Radford vs Damien/Kona
Thoughts: it's pretty clear that the panel has given the top seeds an easy path to the title game. Kahuku should have no problems handling their side of the bracket and Kapaa faces the winner of two teams that are 7-4 and 6-5. The other side of the brackets with the #2 seeds include Mililani and St Louis, which could have easily been the title game. In D2, you have Damien and Konawaena with one loss each and Radford undefeated. It's baffling to think Damien got the 6 seed and ranked below two teams with records barely over .500. I think the panel got D2 very wrong.

Re: State Brackets Revealed
There really is no easy path to the finals. As witnessed, injuries play a big deal late in the football season. St.Louis or Kahuku cannot take their semis lightly. The other team will play lights out. Good luck to all.

Re: State Brackets Revealed
Remember Baldwin vs Kahuku .... with seconds left Kahuku scored and won.
Side note: the DC for the Bears is a RED RAIDER ALUMNI .... Jack Damuni.
GOOD LUCK to all teams!! May the odds forever be in your favor.
GO BIG RED.

Re: State Brackets Revealed
The #1 seeds will skate into the Championship game. The #2s got a hard road ahead of them.....that's tough, but it is what it is. I'm thinking the only seeds that matter are #1 and #2, and not even that really. The tournament is a joke, how is Kahuku ranked #1 but they playing in the 430 time slot???? #1 should get the feature game on Nov. 13th. LOL Oh, because the mil v. stl match up will sell more seats?? And how come the 2 league champs from the NI don't get to host their 1st round games?? didn't they host before?? Great way to confuse us HHSAA....time to play ball!!!

Yeah, but before last year the winner of the 7 pm game wound up winning the championship seven consecutive times.
Punahou Football: 12-1, 2008 ILH and State Champions! 11-0, 2013 ILH and State Champions, a team for the ages!
Re: State Brackets Revealed
Agree with the NI teams not hosting. But let's be honest here, should Mililani win, the STL-MIL game is the matchup you want to headline that night. The hype and quality of that matchup would only be matched if Punahou were playing Kahuku on that same day.Dog 96707 wrote:The #1 seeds will skate into the Championship game. Oh so true HHSAA got it wrong on the D2 side. Damien should be in the Lahainaluna Spot and hosting a first round game as the ILH champion. If Iolani was in Damien's Shoes No way HHSAA head man Chris Chun would let his alumni be seeded last in fact He'd make sure they are a top seeded team like in 2013 when Kaiser should've been #2. Instead he made Kaiser a #4seed to match them up with the #1 seed Lahainaluna an give iolani the #2 seed and an easier path to the title game or so he thought As everyone knows Kauai beat Iolani that year LMAO!!!!

I think there is a good chance for us to see a Kaimuki/Radford final in the Division II.
Re: State Brackets Revealed
i agree Damien got raw deal. I'm lahaina bias and don't believe Lahaina deserved the 6th and home field. oh well Lahaina community will fill the stands that is for sure.
The last time Kaimuki came to Maui, Kaimuki defeated lahainaluna.
not sure if Lahainaluna can win this game but there strength is on the Defensive Line and are not bad stopping the run. If they stop the run they will win to set up a pre season rematch vs Kapaa.
