Re: Offense and Defense rankings so far
My Subjective Ranking:
OFFENSE:
1. Mililani
2. Saint Louis
3. Punahou
4. Farrington
5. Kamehameha
6. Kahuku
7. Waianae
8. Kailua
9. Moanalua
10. Kaiser
DEFENSE:
1. Kahuku
2. Saint Louis
3. Kamehameha
4. Punahou
5. Kailua
6. Kapolei
7. Mililani
8. Farrington
9. Leilehua
10. Iolani
A few musings came up when I compiled the lists:
-Outside of McKinley, does Leilehua have the worst offense in Oahu division 1? When was the last time you could even think that?
-I kind of surprised myself when the Kapolei chuck-fest didn't land in my top 10 offenses. But in this season's offense-friendly environment, a team that turns the ball over and can't run a lick landed just outside.
-If Kailua had five more play-able guys on the depth chart, they'd be a lock for the state tournament
OFFENSE:
1. Mililani
2. Saint Louis
3. Punahou
4. Farrington
5. Kamehameha
6. Kahuku
7. Waianae
8. Kailua
9. Moanalua
10. Kaiser
DEFENSE:
1. Kahuku
2. Saint Louis
3. Kamehameha
4. Punahou
5. Kailua
6. Kapolei
7. Mililani
8. Farrington
9. Leilehua
10. Iolani

Iolani put up 8pts on Farrington and 17 on St. Louis? Im confused about the St. Louis D, maybe they have a run stopping defense (stopped Liberty) but cant defend the pass that well?

Saint Louis runs a no-huddle passing offense. They give their opponents a ton of possessions. Do you really think that Farrington's pass defense is better than Saint Louis' pass defense?gridiron22 wrote:Iolani put up 8pts on Farrington and 17 on St. Louis? St. Louis beat Iolani 28-17
Farrington beat Iolani 52-8
How does Farrington get a better offensive and defensive performance against Iolani? This just makes me wonder if St. Louis is as dominating as the polls show.

Re: Offense and Defense rankings so far
Tua not playing explains the low scoring offense but does not explain the 2 passing TD's against their D, regardless of how many possessions iolani had they scored both passing TD's from 20yd out on well executed plays, not flukey accidental TD's. We will see what happens this week agains Punahou.
Re: Offense and Defense rankings so far
Also had one of our starting corners out, our d lineman for part of the game and a Issac Slade out for about half the game. Missing 3 defensive starters for a good chunk of the game.gridiron22 wrote:Tua not playing explains the low scoring offense but does not explain the 2 passing TD's against their D, regardless of how many possessions iolani had they scored both passing TD's from 20yd out on well executed plays, not flukey accidental TD's.
