Nike Combine

Post by Getreal$ »

Awesome turnout for the Nike Combine. Saw some great talent both young and old with a number of boys with great futures, if the combine numbers translate to field play. You never know until the pads go on and the hitting comes into play.

As I've mentioned before, watch out for Kelii Montibon OL from KS-Hawaii. He posted a great score at the combine and will only get better as he skips baseball to focus on Football. Not to mention he's a young Junior who is 6'3" 280 and growing.

Where are the results? I was looking for all the scores. The only thing I seen was 1. Kobayashi 2. Malepeai 3. Vartic. But it didn't have scores on anyone else. Who ran the fastest 40, etc.

I'm not sure where you can find all the scores, I just follow a few boys from the big Island and heard a few parent talk about their sons times. Paul Honda posted a story so maybe he knows?

Searching the net it appears that Vaevae Malepeai ran a 4.44 40.He finished with the No.2 overall rating behind Drew Kobayashi who ran a 4.58 40 but apparently did better overall in the other drills the player have to go through.

Mililani' Nick Culp,a receiver,;and Leilehua safety Charles Watson were also top performers.Watson apparently also beat Kobayashi's 40 time but not faster than Malepeai did.

Linemen of note included Kaiser's Michael Eletise and St.Louis's Nate Herbig.

There were some monstrous eigth-graders there too...I mean like 6-2 to 6-4 300 pound 8 th graders...St.Louis has some size coming in future years..for sure.
