Kahuku Basketball Transfers from new zealand

Post by huki-lau-lau »

just to be fair when i complain about football transfers to other schools, if i can dish it i can take it.

dont know anything about those impact players from new zealand but they are all 3 starters and an apparant reason why big red is in the top 3 in the state and still getting better, possible title contendors. the homegrown kids in avea 6'4" swing guard, akina 5'5" sharp shooter, gilman 6'0" pointguard, anae 6'3" postman, kesi 6'0" defensive specialist....are all no slouches either.

but without those 3 transfers kahuku would not be in the top 5.

who cares about basketball anyway...cant wait for football season.

YES! Can't wait for football.
No matter what sport, I think there's a distinction between kids who transfer between schools in state vs kids who come from out of state. If Big Red actively "recruited" those kids to come to Kahuku, then outsiders have a legitimate gripe.

good point, kahuku will get kids from the south pacific islands because of the mormon church

similar how leilehua/mililani/radford/moanalua get out of state kids from the military.

I heard that Noah Togiai from Utah was considering transferring as well. He is 6'5 and one of the top recruits in Utah. Already committed to University of Utah. Of course he has a lot of family here. Imagine if he would have came too. Outside the 3 Kiwis, Kahuku is very young and should be good for a few more years.

The Haters will hate when we win it all!!

I heard that they went to Maryknoll first then went back to New Zealand and then came back to Hawaii .... Some how ended up on North Shore??

I agree without the Kiwi's we wouldnt be top 5. Must be the Mana!!

- 1st excuse i hear from kahuku is that their kids dont play bball year round. bogus! the 3 kiwis and akina is 4 pure bball players. statistically those 4 plus another pure bballler (that just so happens to play football) is the 6'4" sophmore Avea, those 5 is the best starting 5 in the state. Chemistry wise they were geling in the playoffs and then laid an egg in the oia title loss to farrington and tonights state semi loss to kalaheo.

coaching! thats all! keep your heads up coaches, lets go getum next year coaches!
