Make you wonder why Punahou didn't take notes on the Kahuku game on how to play defense.

u cant defend pinpoint accuracy from QB to a tall wr. credit mill coaching staff for having a plan and players for discipline execution.
not bragging but kahukus defensive packages and talented db's was the only answer to stopping mill and puns offenses. this was a great offensive game but after watching kahuku shutdown both teams offenses i think we can conclude that this game was a "no defense, but all offensive battle"

PUNS TO DO LIST: START RECRUITING DB'S FROM KAHUKU

flag football with helmets is the wave of the future. with all those nfl and college injuries the game rules are leading to less smashmouth and more offensive passing.

DBs is a African American dominated position on the college and Pro level...its a unwanted position locally because of speed and agility required...you could pretty much say the same with WR...name any local boy that ain't part black that has been successful in these positions on the college level and pro level...you probably can count with one hand and they all receivers...

its not an unwanted position for local athletes its just that they are not speedy gonzales like the papolos so its hard for local kids to b succesful on the national level. but as far as toughness we hold our own.

I can name u 3 db's that were very succesful from kahuku

aaron francisco=nfl
al afalava=nfl
leanord peters=UH

papolos are the prefered and ideal athlete for db and wr, but here in hawaii on the high school level kahuku seems to produce consistent and good db's, kawe johnson last year? thats why we always hanging our hat on our defense and thats why we were able to contain the mill and puns wr's this past season. now lets hope lee leslie can put a decent offense together next year.

1st the refs then race. Please don't tell me you're a Punahou alum. I'd expect more with that kind of education. Fact is that Puanhou couldn't get any kind of decent pressure on Milton and he made you pay for it.

Soleu nailed it. Plus #31 on defense. Phenomenal performances. I will say Mililani needed all that to win and they had what they needed. Great win. Great game. Props to both teams.

Harold Stringert (St. Louis and UH) played a few years at cornerback for the Chargers in the mid 70's. :D

PLEASE!: Don't give Punahou ideas! And don't give Kahuku's DBs ideas! We don't want Punahou taking any more players from Kahuku.

We have to credit Mililani's O-line for that. Punahou had perhaps the finest defensive front-seven in the state; only Kahuku had a defensive front-seven about as good.

Well, Punahou had a DB sticking to Mililani receiver Timoteo like glue all night, but Timoteo still made clutch catches, some for TDs. It might not be so much that Punahou's DBs were weak; at least not the one covering Timoteo. It's probably more that Timoteo is simply an outstanding receiver. Heck, he out-performed Punahou receiver Noa last night, and Noa was the best receiver in the state.
