1. Tamatoa Silva was brought back to farrington because Mililani basically let him go. they didnt need because he was an academic liability. There was no way he should have played last year with the grades he was getting but Rod looked past it and found a way to get him on the field. Now that there is so much depth for the Trojans, Tamatoa was expendable which is why he came to Farrington.

2. Ranan Mamiya and Keola Kealoha transferred from Saint Francis over the summer. Ranan actually lives in Kaimuki if im not mistaken, and Keola lives in Kalihi. Now whether Okimoto "recruited" these guys to farrington reamins to be seen, but he might be the luckiest coach in the state with the pick up of Mamiya. Im glad he (Mamiya) is having a chance to show what he can do at the division 1 level rather than getting beat up by the likes of St. Louis, Kamehameha and Punahou.

3. The entire Ing situation was started by Ing himself. There was a situation during where the game that Graham was getting upset because the scheme wasnt working. The defensive lineman werent doing their jobs. The entire week they had game planned to have the d-lineman cut the offensive lineman to free up the linebackers to make plays. When the game came around Ing was telling his boys (d-lineman) not to cut. Graham was getting upset and he told the boys something along the lines of "You guys better start playing hard and doing the play, or i going lick you guys... and you can go tell your parents, and i lick them too" Something that no coach should ever say to youth playing. After the game, Okimoto had a sit down with Graham and Ing and they came to an agreement that it was all in the heat of the moment and that it would be handled in house. Later that night, Ing posted on instagram a note that basically brought to light the entire situation they had agreed to squash during a meeting with Okimoto and Graham earlier that night. And at that time he offered his resignation. SOME (more like two very high profile) parents took to facebook with a story of their own. Claiming that Ing was fired because he was protecting his players. Okimoto has brought back Ing for the time being, and Graham has been suspended for at least this coming game.

You know they don't want their son chopping all night so the other players can make the plays. He's the superstar so of course he's not gonna do what's best for the team. He gotta make all the plays to boost his stats. Hate to say it but Ing Aleaga is "THEIR" guy. Wouldn't be surprised if he's gone after this season.

Couldnt agree more! Its sad to see how much power a single parent can have over a program. With so much talent and so much potential on the team it seems to be all about a single player. Ing doesnt help either. This player has been having penalties called on him through the past few games because of his lack of discipline. He's in for a rude awakening at the next level. He is an outstanding camp/combine performer, but when it comes to scheme specific football he really struggles.

Man the stories they were telling on Facebook just got everybody riled up. They really blew this way out of proportion. If they settled it in-house after the game, then they should have left it at that. But no, they had to create all this unnecessary drama.

Need to check the new cutting rules. From what I understand the ball needs to be in a certain zone for cutting to be legal.
I think if a team is in shot gun, you cannot cut on the line. If anyone knows rule please clarify.

Didn't Kapolei score by passing so why would they want the d-line to cut? Farrington's weak link is the pass defense wouldn't you want a pass rush help your pass defense...

1. Mamiya was getting beaten-up by St Louis, Kamehameha, and Punahou because St Francis' O-line couldn't block for him. Having said that, there are defenses in the OIA Red that are just about as good as those ILH D1 defenses. We're talking about teams like Mililani, Kahuku, and perhaps Campbell. The difference is that Farrington's O-line can block much better than St Francis' O-line.
2. Almost feeling sorry for Okimoto. Could you imagine what it was like, trying to deal with the drama between his two assistants? Guess Cosbie went through that also, at Kamehameha last year. Being a head coach of a varsity high-school football team is tough; you've got to deal with an unbelievable amount of pressure and crap. Football is a high-profile sport, and gets more scrutiny from a school's alumni than does any other sport. So, alumni attention / expectations create a lot of pressure for the coach. Sometimes, the players create problems with their attitudes and / or insubordination, which add to the stress the coach feels. PARENTS are getting on his case about any number of things. Games are played to relatively large crowds--as compared to other sports--which creates yet more pressure and scrutiny. And sometimes the head coach has to "put-out fires" involving his assistant coaches. At times, he might have problems / disagreements with the school's AD.
