you're kidding right? Rated higher than Fehoko and Manu? First off, who is he, let alone rank him a 95. I heard of the other d-linemen with the exception of Tapasa.

Alema is the younger brother of former Kapolei and current Wisconsin O-Lineman Micah Kapoi. I believe Alema is probably one of the most gifted athletes with strength and speed. He is not yet in the same caliber as Rex and Breiden, but he is very good and next year many will hear of him, if not this year as well. To add to this, I believe he should be rated with the best on the defensive line. Top 10 definitely, he is better than some listed.

No Apelu again this week. Resting him for next week's game against St. Louis or really hurt and out longer?

he has potential, but top ten no dice! watched him struggle often last year, he did put on major size in the off season but would need to be a difference maker this year to crack the top ten, but only a junior lot of football ahead of him to reach his full potential. If he was at an OIA school he would be great but at KSK they sometimes never reach their full potential rather get ruined. Look what happened when KIngston Fernandez left KSK instant super star

not sure but this is what billy hull posted. terrible if true.

Billy Hull‏@billyhull
Kaulana Apelu, who suffered his second ACL injury in as many years two weeks ago, is one of Kamehameha's team captains tonight vs. Damien
college football=drama for men.

That is really unfortunate; for both the Kamehameha football team but more so for this young man. The work that has to go into repairing one's ACL only to have it happen again is something you don't want any athlete to experience.

BIIF input:

QB- DI and DII

1-Kanehailua (KS-Hawaii) is by far the top of the class in both divisions here on the Big Island. Playing his first three games against the top teams in the league (Hilo, Kealakehe, Konawaena), he passed for 727 yards and 9 TD's with 3 Int's. He also has 1 rushing TD. Lost to Hilo in OT mostly due to major dropped passes and conservative play calling after taking a 20-7 halftime lead.

2- Ellis (HPA) is putting up numbers as well but against the top tier teams, he struggled against Hilo and Kealakehe.

3- Atuekaho (Hilo) very inconsistent passer but above average runner. He fits well into Hilo's offensive schemes here on the Big Island. Will need to get a lot better for Hilo to compete (survive) in the playoffs against any mid level OIA team. Throws too much interceptions....5 against KS-Hawaii.

4- Wilson (Kealakehe) hot and cold performances so far has him splitting time with two other underclassmen.

5- Grace (Konawaena) took over QB spot from Howes and appears to be the starter from here on out. Not very consistent with the pass and has trouble under pressure. But he does give Kona a better option at passing than Howes.

6- Faulk (Honokaa) this kid has lots of potential and will probably be the top of his class next year. He struggled against Hilo but played well against Waiakea and Kealakehe.

7- Waiakea and Keaau have issues at QB, nothing to share here

Just my opinion and observations so far on the BI on the QB position.

Like my earlier post on big island QB's, Kanehailua top QB on the Island, Ellis second, Atuekaho third, and Grace forth. What you don't see in Kanehailua's stats is a very high number of dropped passes by receivers in every game. At least 6-10 per game that is right in the hands of receivers. In justifying my ranking of Kanehailua over Ellis, Ellis has Nicky Paleschi 6'5 huge receiver that catches everything. Against Hilo, Kamehameha receivers dropped 11 passes inside the red zone, it was sad to see and worse in an OT loss. Take away Nicky and Ellis loses every game. Kanehailua keeps them in every game no matter what the situation is.
