Interestng...though curious-There are seven teams in each division yet, each team plays seven games. Is each team playing 1 team from the other division to add to their own division games?...or do they have a game against themselves too? jjk on the last part. :)

 Just re-read the whole schedule-There are 7 games for each team! Six divisional and 1 from other division. Too busy trying to be funny that I end up looking stupid. Hey, I can read...my counting is the one in question, although now I'm questioning my reading comprehension as well. lol. Kids! As you get older, don't get stuck in front of the picture box or the brain suffers from atrophy. The old, "This is your brain on drugs..." also applies to tv and video games.

Haha...yeh 1 cross-over game from the other division from what I'm hearing. I really dig the new divisions, should be interesting to keep up with from a fans perspective. From a coaching perspective, the west teams who usually compete on a yearly basis now have a regular season game against a Kahuku or Farrington. Win or loss, great experience for these teams to prepare for the playoffs. Same goes for Kahuku and Farrington, who now doesn't just play the small east side schools who get their talent from a small student body population, but now Kahuku and Farrington can garner quality experience playing against the good to elite west teams during the regular season. A Kahuku-Leilehua regular season match-up will be fun to watch!

5. Kapolei 3-4
6. Moanalua- 2-5
7. Kailua- 1-6

Kapolei doesn't have a defensive line or DB's, granted their incoming players are amazing, but will not put it together. Graduation took the loss of 3 D-1 prospects and all their running backs. Mililani just reloaded their offensive backfield as well as their D-1 Prospects returning with Manu and Silva. Their line should be solid on both sides of the ball. Farrington will have their stud player Fehoko, who will have to live up to his billing as being the top prospect in the state, especially after a disappointing junior season (statistically). Liana at the helm for a third straight year should be a BIG plus for the Governors.

Kahuku should regain their winning ways despite a new coach. As long as they play Red Raiders football, it should be all good. Ranking a dynasty lower then first after only a mediocre year is absurd. Wily-Matagi has a solid year under his belt and should do well for Kahuku. As always, they will reload on both sides of the line. Leilehua's Pauole should do well, though when he is pressured, he tends to sail the ball which leads to interceptions. Leilehua's coaching staff is still one of the best in getting their teams prepared for the season. Waianae will be losing a lot of seniors on the O and D line. All-Stater Stansen Fonoti is a big loss on the offensive side and Senio Samisoni on the defense. Their JV did well and they will have to incorporate the incoming juniors to the team, which Waianae has always did well.

Watch for this breaking news coming out of Kapolei! He will make a big difference!

Kids going to Kapolei from Waianae, are they studs like Matautia? What positions? Are all possible starters? How big of an impact(if any)will it have on Waianae? What other transfers will make impacts for their new teams?

I heard Waianae also lost a part-time starter in Trent Spragling…from what it seems like he wasn't an every down back, just a change of pace, speedster. I heard there was a total of 5-6 kids that went to Kapolei.

Those Waianae kids probably gonna start. I don't think they would leave their program to go sit on somebody else's bench. Plus kapolei is always overrated.

Wow a lot of transferring going on! I am curious if we are able to list all the transfer happenings within the OIA. It seems to ignite interest and excitement for the upcoming season...

It has been fun to watch those former West teams battle it out each year.My first impression of the new divisions is that the competition has been evened out somewhat...that is a nice way of saying watered down.Still,a top team could draw a top team from the other division and make things tough as they used to be recently in the West Division.

Things do not appear to have changed for Kahuku. In fact ,their outlook is a lot brighter with no Farrington on the schedule( assuming the Govs aren.t their interdivisional game.)

Out of necessity, the ILH is going to have the Big Three schools bang heads at least twice. It is tough to have a gaudy record in that situation and usually only one school gets it....that has been Punahou lately.I guess we will never know if the Puns,Crusaders ,and Warriors would come out 1,2,and three each year until they get into decent sized leagues where each one of them could win and face each other in states.I guess they don't mind handicapping themselves too much. I see three schools who stay in a bind that limits them to one playoff spot a year. They apparently won't ever be a ble to split from each other and join leagues with public schools in a decent seven or eight team situation. Would they ever be able to all three get in states one day..that would probably be the only way.I don't see the OIA going for it.

What could be..........
