Saint Louis Seeking New Head Coach
Saint Louis Seeking New Head Coach
The word on the streets is Matt Wright was let go today. Who do you think should lead the Crusaders in 2014? Let the speculation begin.

They should get an alumni to coach the team. Arceneaux should be good, sorry if I misspelled the name.

I don't think it matters who the head coach is if they keep retaining the core group of assistants year after year. It'll just be a new guy being led by the same group. Time to clean house.
Re: Saint Louis Seeking New Head Coach
Agree they need to clean house and hire Kahn Punahous OC before TeeTai took over....

cal & Ron Lee??
Re: Saint Louis Seeking New Head Coach
I would hire Olin Kreutz (if he was interested, which I doubt) but I'm guessing if Kreutz were to be at St Louis that he will be able to attract some talent. Maybe take the program back to its glory days.
Another good Alumni choice would be Gesser. He's got Coaching experience. But I think he lives out of state.
The Lee's would be good too.

Did Wright's firing surprise anyone else? I was. What's going on there? SA article said there's money troubles and Wright was let go from his post in the development office because of "restructuring." Tough.

But Arceneaux was HC there before. Why did HE leave?studfinder wrote:newguy wrote:The word on the streets is Matt Wright was let go today. Who do you think should lead the Crusaders in 2014? Let the speculation begin.

Someone in an earlier post said an alumnus would be best; Cal Lee is a Kalani alumnus. But of course, he led the '86-'99 dynasty at St Louis; why did HE leave? Because he got an assistant-coach offer at UH? Why would he now go BACK to St Louis? Isn't he now an assistant coach at his alma mater, Kalani?cmak808 wrote:cal & Ron Lee??

They probably burnt theirs bridge with him by not giving him the Athletic Director job a few years back but Delbert Tengan had some good years as HC up at Kalaepohaku. Always had a solid staff and seemed to field good teams.

Well, again: Someone in an earlier post said it would be best to have a St Louis alumnus as HC; Tengan is a Kailua alumnus. And: Why did HE leave? Afterwards, didn't he become an assistant coach at Iolani?rednblue wrote:They probably burnt theirs bridge with him by not giving him the Athletic Director job a few years back but Delbert Tengan had some good years as HC up at Kalaepohaku. Smart move would be to steal Punahou DC Agenhart Ellis. He's familiar with both Punahou and Kamehameha.
