I think it was a tough call that could have gone either way. It doesn't matter how many supporting parts are inbounds, but if a supporting point from each wrestler is out, it's out...... There was also a lot of wrestling on the edge by both wrestlers throughout the match and if you don't follow the officials verbal instructions to wrestle in the center, you're leaving it up to him to make a tough call on the edge. I think it did impact the match, but Corbett had both the 2nd and 3rd period to change the outcome of the match. Corbett did just enough on top to look busy and not get called for stalling and Jaramillo attempted to do the same in the 3rd, but did get a warning.

Lunas have nothing to be ashamed of, If not for Pearl City they would be state champs. No one else was close

Lahaina will be the front runner again next year and with tne poor performance of the ILH coupled with the fact the rapidly improving OIA knocking each other out, Lahaina will have an easier shot at the boys state title.

On the girls end Kamehameha loses 3 of 5 state champions to graduation and unless they get some help coming in the Lunas who had no seniors should be the front runners on the girls side also.

although it does sound lime all the years past......Next year is the year

Kamehameha boys team was a surprise..They started 5 freshmen, 4 Sophmores, 3 juniors and 2 seniors. If Luna's can't figure out the concept of peaking at the right time, Kamehameha boys will beat them out next year.

In regards to the 145lb final it looked like Corbett didn't gain full control until he was completely out of bounds and also Jaramillo's left knee/foot was out of bounds. It appeared that the ref was going to give the takedown but the assistant ref had a different perspective and talked him out of it. When its that close of a call and it really could go either way I think you have to trust your assistant ref or else why even have one. Yes it probably had an affect on the outcome of the match but at the same time Corbett had 2 more periods to put points up on the board in which he failed to do. Hopefully this loss lights a fire under Liam's butt and he comes back and dominates the next 2 years.

But then again, we may have to wait another 3 years until kam can compete for a team title when those freshmen become seniors. Kam can't seem to win without a strong senior class.
Campbell will be there consistently, Punahou too.

2014-15 wrestling season

Just heard Al Chee who coached Kam got the job at Saint Louis. Moanalua replaced their HC and it worked out well. Will it be the same for the crusaders?

Wow, lots of new names to look at. Great to see wrestling is alive and well on the neighbor islands. Wish I could say the same for Oahu.

I heard from the grapevine that the new head coach for Campbell High school is Coach Lucas. I remember seeing him on the Kamehameha sidelines, good to see younger faces stepping into the coaching ranks.

Lucas will be just fine. The old coach was so involved with little details that he and his staff failed to see the BIG picture. Considering the huge numbers that turned out for wrestling at Campbell, the amount of champions he produced is miniscule. The program will flourish now that the anchor has been lifted.

Wow, that's a little harsh. Up until a few years ago, Campbell wasn't even in the discussion for anything wrestling since the 80's...now they're perennial contenders.

Who graduated out of each weight class this year? Here is who I remember. Not sure on others.

106:??
113:??
120: Natividad(CAM), Spain(WAK)?
126: Ursusa(PC), Quitugua(CAM)
132: Terao(PC5), Albright(KPO), Durham(KAS)?
138: Akeo(MIL), Chism(LAH)?
145: Riviera(PC)
152: Soloman(KLH), Kamaka(LEI), Ikehara(WAK), Graziano(WAN), Campos(LAH)?
160: Cooper(PC)
170: Williams(CAS), Kikuyama(PC), Kiehm(IOL), Hoshino(KSK)
182: Wiseman(KPO), Gonzalez(RAD)
195: Joe(PC), Laros(HPA)
220: Furuta(MIL), Chatman(RAD)
285: All

A pretty solid class: Ursua(2x), Terao(4x), Akeo(3x), Soloman(1x), Cooper(3x) only five of this years weights were won by non seniors.
Fill in the blanks if you can, or edit the ones that are wrong.
