2011 High School Cross Country
Re: 2011 High School Cross Country
It's important to note that the Lahainaluna Invitational will be at Kapalua this year, not at the school. This is the same location as this year's state meet, so hopefully plenty of talented runners from around the state will come race on Maui that weekend.
Re: 2011 High School Cross Country
Hzy: Wish I could bring my team over to run the course. Thats the same weekend as the Iolani Invitational .
Re: 2011 High School Cross Country
OIA: Thanks for mentioning that. Maybe the MIL coaches can change some meets around to allow for off-island schools to attend.
Re: 2011 High School Cross Country
October 1st would be good. OIA and BIIF looks like they both get bye.
Re: 2011 High School Cross Country
Unfortunately the difficulty is going to be in securing Kapalua for a different Saturday. I know it was difficult to schedule the meets there as it is.

Re: 2011 High School Cross Country
Who do you guys think will win the team championships?
I see Punahou repeating again, but I'm not so sure on the boys side.

Re: 2011 High School Cross Country
Punahou girls are probably too deep to beat, Seabury girls look like a new version of the Mililani girls from a couple years ago on Kauai- a few top runners but lacking a closer.
As for the boys, I think it should be exciting this year. I think the top 6 teams going into the season are Iolani, Leilehua, Maui High, Pearl City, Kamehameha-Kapalama and Punahou. I had to go top 6 because even though I don't see depth from last years' Kapalama team, how can you count out a two time champion? Looking at a strong year from Mililani because they are the only team returning all of their runners from the state meet last year. Pearl City has a strong core, many of whom competed at the Foot Locker regional meet; Iolani is always deep and has some front runners, which can also be said for Leilehua, and Maui High has a strong returning group of seniors.
That's my two-cents.
Good luck to everyone! Time to get this party started!

You have not seen all the ducks yet. You should have learned from track. Different coach different team, the meet is on Maui.
Re: 2011 High School Cross Country
I'm well aware of the new situation at Seabury, and I have seen most of the "ducks" as you like to call them. But just as you mentioned a new program and different team, likewise I could say same coach, same team for Punahou. I know what happened in track- Seabury got a lot of points in the sprint events from a graduated senior. This is cross country, not track, and we all know the depth of the Punahou girls.

What ever you want to believe is OK. I made a prediction last year and it turned out 100% true. I will stick next to what I say. Do you think that Seabury just forgot what happened four years ago. And yes I like ducks Quack Quack.
