Big Dog just put out his top ten predictions today for the girls:

http://waynejoseph.wordpress.com/2010/0 ... -for-2010/

He says he'll put one out for boys tomorrow.

It looks like he just took the results from last year's state champs and took all of the seniors off the list.

Brady is about to get the surprise of her life.

Would you like to elaborate on that Nogutsnoglory? I'm not trolling I'm just curious why you would say that? Is there some incoming freshman that is going to dominate this year? Brady won fairly comfortably and the girl that was second graduated.

Anyway, here's the Bigdog's boys predictions:

Saw the kid from St. Louis (I think St. Louis) run a 5k this past summers. Although the course was flat, he looked really good. Not sure why he didn't run last year.

Not really, lets just say you need to pay attention to what is going on around the state. I bet someone out there will tell you soon. By the way are you Welsh, I am from Yorkshire UK. All I can say is there will be NO stopping her. And she is very motivated.

The problem with this thread is that the author claims to know who a new talent is but won't name this person. Probably because ,if the runner doesn't live up to his expectations, then he will have egg on his face..so we are left with a mysterious pronouncement that a runner that we know is going to get blindsided by someone the author won'T name....but he has no problem naming Brady as being on the receiving end of a big surprise....this is not good.

Try this thread again but name your runner so we can have an intelligent discussion.

Thats right Unpaid

You guys should pay more attention. I like having fun with you. Here is a hint. Look at the results of the JO Nationals. Lets see how smart you are. As far as egg on my face, I do not think so, I coached this girl at one time.

The only results that matter are the next races to come.Try not to wait until after the season is over to claim the champ is the person you are talking about.

No need to get bent out of shape. It is just my opinion. What is the difference between Big Dog saying Brady is #1. Who knows who is going to come along, right.. It was real simple to look at the JO Nationals and look to the age group of incoming freshman to see. You will be surprised like I said. I would go as far to say this girl is going to be the "Jordan Hassay" of Hawaii. I would say that is pretty bold. I know there are people reading this that know exactly who I am talking about. Anyway good luck to all the girls, it will be a fun season.

The difference is that BigDog named his number one ....and since it was Brady we have a name that we can attach past results to and see how she might stack up to her competitors this year. You made a mysterious statement which welshrarebit responded to with a perfectly natural question....Your reply was less than forthright.

There are roughly 48 days left to the Iolani XC event so you still have lots of time left to name your yet unwritten No.1 and wow us with your foresight before the season begins, because this thread isn't really about this runner,It;s really about how smart you are, isn't it. And yet,you can't name your number one like BigDog named his because it seems you can't afford to be wrong.

Anybody with a computer or phone can find out who the Hawaii JO team members are ,and who the team members from the rest of the US are just in case you are talking about a transfer.

I'm picking Brady or Grossman. OH my,that's two people who have dared to name their preseason pick for Hawaii's girls high school XC champ without fuss.

Care to join the club? .....Yeah, I thought not. By the way,the name is Jordan Hasay, not Jordan Hassay.

The runners will do fine regardless.

Buh-bye!

Just for the record I'm pulling for Tia Greenwell. Having said that, Brady is the champ and until she is beaten she has to be the favorite to repeat.

Unpaid: Grossman was a senior last year so she won't be racing this year.

I hope there is some freshman phenom again this year because the more competition there is the better for everyone!

Noguts: no, I'm not from wales; but my surname is welsh and I have been there and I've also been to York, England before. The Minster is amazing!!!

I believe there is another Grossman named Dakota that will be entering high school next year. She won the intermediate race at iolani. She also went to the JO Nationals.

It must really be tough for you to know I threw out the same runner you did as someone who could win states this year.

See,it wasn't so tough ,was it? Now that your great mystery has been revealed we can have an intelligent discussion about this.

Personally, I still can't make up my mind between Brady and Grossman, but I would give the edge to Brady right now. There should be some interesting duels between them and the other top picks mentioned here.
