Re: Honolulu Marathon Invite

Post by kautech »

ILH Schedule looks like this:

15-Apr Thu JV Champs (Trials) Kamehameha 3:30 PM 3:45 PM 4 4 4
16-Apr Fri Honolulu Marathon Invit. Kamehameha 3:30 PM 3:45 PM TBA TBA TBA
17-Apr Sat JV Champs (Finals) Kamehameha 4:00 PM 5:00 PM As Advance

OIA has HNL Marathon listed as 4/16 ... only they have the wrong location ... the meet will be at Kamehameha, same site as the HHSAA Championship in May ...

Under the Radar

Post by kautech »

Anyone know if Sage Hinthaus is competing for Kaiser this year ... she is listed as going 11-6 in the GPV at the Pole Vault Summit 1/30 in Reno ... that'll be a tough act to follow as it's 2 inches higher than the current HHSAA meet record ...

Bummer for the top 100m runner. Pulled up on the 200m event, with what looked like a hammy pull. Hope for a fast and full recovery before states.

I have been trying to get a hold of someone to enter athletes into the Honolulu Marathon Invite, but have had no luck. Can anyone give me some contact information for the meet? Thanks

Even if they post this years qualifying standards... will it really mean anything? With the cuts that they've made from the top 32 (4 heats) down to ?? 24... qualifying standards will only mean you've qualified, but if you're in the high 20's then you might not compete? Someone from administrative side of athletics please enlighten us on what's going on.

The meet is being run by the ILH this year, so the contact will be Jeff Meister at Punahou, (jmeister@punahou.edu)
The previous meets were run by the OIA, contact Kaiser Track Coach Dennis Swart (swartde@earthlink.com)
All the schools contact info can be found at http://www.sportshigh.com/schools/

Thanks RunJonPaul.

I agree with todaresq. This situation needs to be clarified, especially as we enter the last weeks of the regular season. What about the top 24 times/heights/distances qualify?
