Will the Rebels throw in the Towel Against Rival Reno, or will the team rally behind thir assistant coach.
For our sake, we are hoping for a rally.
We need a Rebel win to keep our hopes alive in the MWC playoff

For some reason unbeknownst to us minnions of football fandom, UNLV football has always been one of the armpits of college football and a graveyard of coaches. Winning seasons are rare. They have had some talent over the years but something just doesn't jell there. I'm surprised that they don't have much success and wonder how they have been tapping the hospitality industry for support, if much at all. Vegas has a lot of money to go around and UNLV's facilities should be top-notch if they ever get it, or got it, right.

But in today's context I say, "Go Rebels, beat Reno!". UH needs your help.

Regrettably, NC is too stubborn to do the classy thing and quit.

Hauck was pretty damn successful at Montana, before going to UNLV.
80-17, 7 straight conference titles, 3 trips to the FCS championship game.

Maybe his style of football was appropriate to the type of players he could readily recruit in that region of the country.

Just like JJ style of football suited Hawaii. So much so that even Defense minded Mack could plug in and achieve moderate to better success as a defense coach with a young untested coaching staff on offense and an ancient guru.

Some places are coach killers. Coaches who have wanted to change the culture at Colorado have come and gone because they could not do so. At Michigan a lot of people were against Rodriguez before he got there and he never really had a chance to do what he wanted. He moved to Arizona and now they are playing for the conference championship. The coach who replaced him was recently fired.

As for JJ football has changed and more defenses are wise to what he does. Against a good defense his offense will struggle. Facing a team with an offense like ours will be a blessing to him. We will be giving the ball back to his offense after a few plays and that is what he wants. But with othe teams like Utah State I think that he will struggle. If he does get the job I would not be surprised if he gave Mack a call.
