Tomorrow will tell the story.
Get this, MULTIPLE reports of debris like receipts, cups, and many things marked from Tuscaloosa have landed in yards in Gadsden over 140 miles away!
I was safe at work in a huge shopping mall in Birmingham. My family at home had two tornadoes come just north and south.

I'm not surprised. I've lived in Oklahoma long enough to know that torandoes can do some far-out stuff like that...........and worse.NiCkOwNsRTR wrote:Get this, MULTIPLE reports of debris like receipts, cups, and many things marked from Tuscaloosa have landed in yards in Gadsden over 140 miles away!

Finally reached my parents in Alabama. They said my hometown suffered very little damage from the storm. They, along with 80% of North Alabama, are without power, which is going to last for 5-7 more days for the entire region.
There were some badly hit areas in North Alabama including a small town by the name of Phil Campbell. The town, with a population of 1100, looks almost completely wiped out. Entire apartment complexes have been destroyed. The town clinic is gone. There are currently 26 confirmed dead and many, many more injured. My prayers go out to that community as well as the rest of the state.

Since I was there for the tornado (I know, I have a great sense of timing!), I figured I can legitimately move this thread back to football. From AL.com: Pre-season All-America watch -13 starters listed. All this may not translate to championships but it says something about recruiting and a good PR department!

Big game today. I actually scored some tickets so I'm very excited.
We'll see how good we are a little this Saturday, but REALLY when LSU come to town. I'm still cautiously optimistic about this team. I'll breathe more easily when Hanks (and possibly Carter) become part of the offense. Defense is not as dominant as I thought they were going to be (I know it's still early, but they were hyped to be possibly the best in history) We're still in good shape though. We just need to stay fundamentally sound and that should get us W's all the way until LSU.

Outstanding - Al.com did a feature on him earlier in the season. Here's the one from after the Arkansas game:Irse wrote:How has the ex UH commit, Jesse Williams been playing?

Re: ** This is ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE Sports **
I got LSU, Bama, Boise, Wiscy and OU as my top 5 teams in the country. I know BSU doesn't play the level of competition y'all do in the SEC but this team passes the eye test... or at least my eye test. The Broncs look as good as anyone. The way they dismantled Fresno in Bulldog stadium and how they dominated in all facets of the game had to catch the eyes of some of the big boys. Fresno isn't great but they competed well and actually led at halftime at Nebraska. I think Bama and LSU are bracketed at #1. Both teams defenses are beasts! Probably could stop some AFC south offenses.... Everyone wants to toot OU's horn (for good measure, OU is good) but I think Wisconsin is a team to watch out for. I think they could be a darkhorse BCSNCG contender.
